Saints @ 49ers: First Half Recap and Open Thread

Four turnovers. That's all you really need to know about the first half of this game.
Fumbles by Pierre Thomas and Courtney Roby along with two Drew Brees interceptions allowed the San Francisco 49ers to get out to a scary 17-0 lead.
But the momentum changed in the second quarter as the Saints defense started tightening up and the offense got comfortable. Brees threw two touchdown strikes to Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston and narrow the gap to a manageable 17-14 score before the half.
It could be worse. The Saints are only down by 3 points despite a turnover differential of -3. If they can win the second half, they can win the game.
Pierre Thomas took a helmet-to-helmet hit early and suffered a game-ending concussion.

As shocking as this may be to some Saints fans, YOU CANT ABANDON THE RUN AND HOPE TO WIN A GAME. Thisisnt college. The spread offense is cute, but it doesnt win. And with this piss~ poor defense, was it a surperise that one or three points wasn’t enough? As soon as PT left, the game was (apparently) over. It seems that Payton needs THREE running backs to commit to running at least 30% of the time. Ah, well. Good season. Better luck next year… Assholes!!! Excuse me.

AND we dont run a spread option.
Yeah, We moved the ball really well and were gashing them with 5 yarders up the middle in the second half...
and that was against the #1 D. Offense was not a problem, turnovers and giving up big plays was.
GET TO THE RIM HEAT (and SKY)! ATTACK THE PAINT!
Lame argument...if our D doesn't play man to man or simply stops them in that last drive
all that is a moot point!
