Saints 32 @ 49ers 36: Prediction Results and Voting

Everyone's predictions about the Saints @ 49ers Divisional playoff made this past Friday have finally been tallied, analyzed and formatted accordingly. They can be found in their entirety following the jump.

There will be no need for a vote this week. We had only one member get all three predictions correct, so I am automatically crowning him our winner. That would be none other than metryman. So congrats to metryman for being the only one to not suck this week. Most of you can thank the Saints running game for screwing up your predictions.

Look over the results and enjoy! Thanks to everyone for playing this season. We will have one more for Super Bowl XLVI in a few weeks.

    I got one right...

I think that’s better than any of my other predictions. I don’t count any of the times I predicted Bree throwing for over 300. During this season, that’s like betting I can hit the ground if I spit out my office window.

Off the subject and forgive me for asking

What is all this crap regarding SOPA and PIPA? Haven’t been able to keep up with it lately. Does it have to do with Streaming of some sort?

Has to do with a bill to try to stop internet piracy. However, it's completely ridiculous and misplaced.

Basically it would shut down 3/4 of the internet. Pretty much every single website is responsible for the content shown…that also includes links that the site shows….which includes links that site shows….etc, etc, etc. So basically every single website would have to proofread thousands and thousands of links every day to make sure not a single one of them that can backtrack to their site has any pirated information…which includes things like simple photographs. If they do…they could get a complaint by said plaintiff…call it…a celebrity…a movie studio…music company…doesn’t matter. That site would then be shutdown by the government without any due process what so ever.

So technically speaking…when we like to post pictures here on occasion for fun….could get SBNation shut down in a heartbeat without any warning what so ever. It’s basically a misguided bill that 100% completely out of control.

    Talk about Sad

Gotta love the government taking away freedom of speech etc. I hope this Bogus Law is voted against and it outweighed in the polls. It’s ridiculous, and quite pathetic in my book. Anything to ruin everybody’s fun.

I know there's protests going on today. If you're curious I believe wikipedia and a few other sites are down today in protest that have links to what the bill is all about.

I noticed Craigslist is acting funny as well

If you go to their site, a black page pops up and has the SOPA info on there.

The President and Att. Gen have been cracking down on Internet Privacy for some time

but this is complex bill, a smaller, more specific bill is needed, The Prez. is not all in, he will Veto it, it’s an election yr, don’t think he’ll let the Tar Sand pipeline happen either, imo. This is a argument for/against Freedom of Expression. Google….. Bittorrent, also SOPA-PIPA click on the LA Times article for Jan. 18th, pretty good, might help.

    Looking Forward....and Back

After more thought, I think the more costly plays in the loss were the fumbles by Roby and Sproles (uncharacteristic). I’m not a fan of Harper, but you can’t give a good team like the 49ers extra possessions, even if they only amounted to field goals.

Many Saints fans received treatment in SF similar to what we received in Chicago in 2006. Look no further than next year’s schedule because payback time is near. We play the 49ers at home next year.

SP has stated that he wants to pattern our franchise after what New England has done over the years. NE has overhauled their roster (more than once) since their first Superbowl win in 2001. The one constant has been Tom Brady. Clearly, Brees is going nowhere. Regarding other possible roster changes (Colston, Nicks et al), let’s not panic. I have faith in Mickey Loomis and SP. They will find the right pieces to the puzzle.

On a final note, I saw that Doug Nussmeier was rumored to be hired by Alabama as their OC. He is BY FAR the worst quarterback I ever saw to wear a Saints uniform. I hope he is a better coach than QB. Those were some dark days in Saints franchise history.

    On a completely separate note...

Any of you N.O. people going to go peek at the grand opening of Manning’s sports themed restaurant tonight?

-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.

    Not tonight

But I plan on going soon. I’ll have the Poutine style cheese fries topped with cochon du lait.

Sweet…what’s that in English for those of us who haven’t been home to Nawlins in 25 years?

    Wikipedia is back up ;)

But poutine is fries with gravy and cheese curd, and cochon du lait is a pork dish from a roasted young pig

Hmm…anything with the word “curd” to describe it sounds unappetizing.

metryman made 3 good, legitimate predictions and deserves it congrats!!

some predictions sometimes are too thin, but these were good.
