Question about playoffs/Super Bowl
Does anyone know about this? Since the SB is in New Orleans next year, does that mean Benson stands to make more moolah and (cap issues aside) he will be in a better position to spend more money? Also, if we, for instance, play 2 or 3 home playoff games next year, does that make any difference in Benson's bottom line and does that help pay for better players/salaries? Or. is it all about the cap keeping a team from spending for players?

Benson will not make more money, except perhaps peripherally from use of local properties he actually owns (not sure if Champions Square is part of that or not).
Even if he did, it would not help, because all that would happen is the extra money would get factored into calculating the entire league-wide cap number, which is exactly the same for every single team.
And even the cap can be managed if you know what you are doing. The Eagles are a bad example of proper team-building, but they are a great example of creative contract structures. Mickey can and will find a way to get it done, as long as nobody (i.e. either side) gets too ridiculous in their demands/offers.
the saints routinely max out the cap
benson is not cheap when it comes to players salaries. as far as benson making more money on the sb, i doubt it. he probably spends millions of his own dollars just to put together a bid for the super bowl (although im sure that any and every group that stands to gain from a super bowl will do anything they can to help).

He'll only make more money if he sells hot dogs.
