Da Chronic's Got Talent: An Introduction
Well, as it turned out, there were quite a few of you who inquired within and responded to my help wanted post this week with an interest in becoming a front page contributor. More than I expected, in fact. Which is awesome! So the next step is determining who will officially join the Canal Street Chronicles team. That's where you guys come in.
Everyone who responded with an interest in writing for Canal Street Chronicles was emailed instructions and is now responsible for submitting to me a writing sample by Sunday. Something that shows us all exactly what we can expect from their future work on the blog.
Throughout the next week or so, I will post each candidates submission anonymously on the front page and solicit feedback from the community. Whoever receives the overwhelmingly positive support of the CSC community will most likely be given a regular position on the writing staff.
That means this isn't a competition. There aren't a limited number of spots available, nor do I have a quota to fill. Everyone who submits a sample could be asked back for a regular gig or none of them can. Chances are it will be somewhere in the middle. Either way, it depends mostly on you.
Each of our potential new writers will be contributing at a frequency of their choosing, but will be held responsible for maintaining that frequency should they earn a regular position. Ideally, I will be including the potential posting frequency of each writer with his/her submission to give you a better idea of how often you might expect to read something from them.
Submissions will be posted anonymously so that readers may offer honest feedback but please remember that the authors will most assuredly be reading your comments. So all criticism must be constructive. Keep Da Chronic classy.
What do you guys think? Is this exciting?

Interested for Sure! Is the door still open?
Sup Dave! Been following the post for a while now and am also interested. I am a former player, home grown of course, and I live behind enemy lines in ATL, GA. What more could you want? Up for the challenge of giving some perspective from a Saints fan behind the lines of Durty Turdville :-).

Its in his profile.
If you click on his name or avatar it will take you to his profile. Same with any member. A few of us include our email addresses in our profile. Also when you want to respond to another member click the reply button, and your comment will be directed to the member’s comment. Another source of info is in the side bar to the left. Under sections. there are different links to things such as CSC guidelines as well as an app to place your location on our Google Map. Good luck. Have fun.

NOOBVILLE, USA
Been a long time since I’ve been classified as a “noob”, I feel born again….hahahaha. Thanks again! Is it okay to call you Cajun? Or is that noobish too? Should I say cc58, or capital “C”, capital “C”, 5,8? I figure I can only hold on to my Noob moniker for so long before the next guy snatches is up :-P

just don't call him Clayton
I thought I heard him call into a podcast show saying his name was Clayton, so I called him that for weeks, and then he asks me why I’m calling him that when it’s not his name…D’oh!!! And now I’m looking everywhere for this Clayton who may have called into the podcast…
Hey, by any chance, are you Clayton?

So....
I’m guessing I’ve pissed you off somehow and that is why I wasn’t allowed to submit anything?
I drained my heart and burn my soul....I trained the core to stop my growth-MM
Haha
You haven’t pissed me off. I am already familiar with you work. And your email seemed to suggest that you were willing to contribute if needed, but it didn’t scream excitement. Figured I would just give others a chance first.

This is absolutely exciting!!!
I’m looking forward to being a harsh, yet fair critic!!!
It feels good to know we will actually have a little say in the good stuff we read on here!!!
By the way, I have to tell y’all, this was my first year being regularly on CSC and it’s been such a blast!!!
Offseason, the SAINTS are coming!!! :-)
Expect more...you'll get more...and if you don't, start over!
I'd love to do this, but time is an issue.
About how often will you need something posted?
I could maybe do weekly . . . if I were to submit something and it make the cut that is.
I'd rather not wait until I'm dead to figure out how to live.
It's completely up to you.
You tell me how often you want to contribute. It can be once a week, once every other week, once a month. Whatever. Just be sure you stick to what you promise.
