Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Me, "ESPN sucks." You, "Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man."

It seems to me like ESPN has "brain farts" every once in a while. Or, almost continuously actually. The "brain fart" that I'm referring to in this case is, well; I don't know his name. I don't watch ESPN that much. He looks like Ben Stiller's Dad if he were a bit thinner, and looked more like an ***hole. Also, contrary to Ben Stiller's biological father, this guy is not funny, or smart, or interesting by any stretch of the imagination.
So, for once they were discussing anything but Tim Tebow, which caught my immediate attention. My attention instantaneously turned into disgust when Ben Stiller's ESPN Dad said, (I'm paraphrasing, horribly) "Why should Drew Brees get MVP over Tom Brady? Tom Brady came within two hundred yards of him". Seriously, Ben Stiller's ESPN Dad? C'mon man!

My final summation? ESPN is either:
A) Always following the popular story, (Which typically shouldn't even be the popular story) and driving that story into your brain until you want to dig it out with a jagged butterknife. Or,

B) Allowing Ben Stiller's ESPN Dad to say something as stupid as having a close second place somehow gives you the lead.

Does anyone know Ben Stiller's ESPN Dad's real name? I'm too lazy to do the necessary research online to figure it out. Also, what do you think about ESPN's analysts? What do you think about Ben Stiller's ESPN Dad, or his real Dad for that matter? Your thoughts. Enjoy the playoffs, fellow Saints'ers.

I have to give them some credit tonight

I have been watching ESPN2 for the past couple hours and they covered the Lions/Saints matchup multiple times including dissecting plays from their original game – while briefly mentioning other teams.

They also included Brees breaking Marino’s record as one of the best moments of the season. I’m usually pissed at how little coverage we get so it was a nice surprise.

Sarah would that be NFL LIVE and NFL32

I enjoy both shows

I don't think it was

Because they were also showing clips of basketball, tennis and college football.

Oh and just fyi

Most of us complain at how little coverage/crappy coverage tends to be so it’s not just your opinion.

That makes me feel better.

Do you know Ben Stiller’s ESPN Dad’s name?

You are talking about Skip Bayless

He loves Tom Brady and Tim Tebow and hates the Saints
That guy is not a very good sports guy
He is one of the reasons I dont watch espn often
I also saw him yesterday explain why Brady is so much better then Brees yesterday
And your description of him is dead on

by mississippisaintsfan on Jan 4, 2012 5:30 AM CST reply actions

Yes!

That’s the guy. He’s a piece of work, isn’t he? I had already pretty much disliked him, but he sealed the deal with that one. I have a ton of respect for Brady, and he had a great season as well, but that was such a biased stretch. Me thinks I owe an apology to Jerry Stiller for using him as a reference point to such a bad man.

Skippy-poo is just all verklempt...

…because his three-way gayman crush on Tony Romo and Tom Brady, with Skippy as the pivotman won’t ever come to pass, and he likes watching both of his dreamboats play football as long as he can.

Dude is an idiot. Don’t watch him. When is ugly stupid face shows up on my TV, I change the channel, or I might be induced to vomiting.

This^

I’ve already expressed my dislike of this d-bag with this 1/4/2010 Fanpost.

The National Football Post also takes aim at him in this 11/1/2011 article.

He’s pretty much universally hated by all except maybe Cowboys fans because he’s their biggest cheerleader.

The Saints didn’t win SB XLIV, so much as the Colts lost it.

How does my already least favorite person become, more my least favorite person?

With that comment right there. Skip Bayless is the devil.

You have to be talking about Skip Bayless.

Ben Stillers father, lulz. I can kind of see the resemblance, now that you’ve mentioned it.

I'm calling him Jerry Stiller from now on.

Maybe not fair to Jerry, but too funny not to proliferate.
