Worries me that Lance Moore won't be playing

He’s always had a hamstring problem. And please Vilma and Jenkins, we need you out there.

I spent 8 years trying to reach him...and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...Evil.

Injury Update
NEW ORLEANS (AP)—Receiver Lance Moore and linebacker Jonathan Casillas will miss the New Orleans Saints’ playoff opener against the Detroit Lions on Saturday night.
Also listed as out for New Orleans is reserve tight end John Gilmore

Even though Gilmore is not really a star, his absence can be a significant one

probably in future rounds more than this one. When we have a 2 tight end set, it actually is a huge matchup problem and is very versatile since Graham can go in motion, or block, or line up in the slot and just when the opponent thinks thay have everything covered, a quick little 8 yard pass on delay to gilmore is just a back breaker and something they always have to think about even though we don’t use it much. He’s a very good blocker too.

Whereas Moore is incredibly talented but we have Meachem and Arrington to take up slack there and a host of LBs to play in place of Casillas even though I favor him quite a lot also,

"We've established the run; we've established the pass. Now all we have to establish is another championship!"

I love Casillas. That guy is fast!

GW will make some adjustments no doubt

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t we still have Higgins and Humphrey? Neither of them are horrid… and it’s not like Gilmore is that much better than either of them… or is he?

Not sure. Haven't heard anything yet

Oooh looky

Fairley has a foot injury. Think we can get Suh to stomp on his foot?

On another note, the wife reminded me earlier this week that Saturday is our anniversary and she wanted to be taken out to dinner. I said “Fine, as long as we’re home in time for the kickoff of the Saints game. Or we can go eat at a sports bar or the like.”

Too harsh?

tell her you want her to wear a Saints cheerleader outfit that night

And you can dress up like Jimmy Graham and it’ll be…romantic?

Surprise her.

Instead, take her on a mid-afternoon pic-nic, pop the champagne, finish that meal at a nice place for desert with porto. She’ll be in bed by 8:00…

You’re welcome.

Repeat? Run it!

Hell no! In fact, where does she get off asking to be taken to dinner at any point during game day.

How long you been married? I think it might be time to drop her, dude.

I think you're overlooking the fact Dave....

that he married her during the NFL playoffs time period! That should tell you what head he was thinking with!

HaHa Good Luck guys

Two keys to this game will be the return of Delmas, who elevates the entire defense when he is on the field, and of course a certain receiver could very well just decide to completely dominate this game. I can only imagine what the Saints players must be feeling after the quick exit last year, but I think there is the same amount of fire on the other side. It’s going to be crazy. Graham freaks me out, if the Lions can’t slow him down somehow we lose.

by LionsD on Jan 6, 2012 11:27 PM CST up reply actions

just so you'll know

some of us here were coveting Delmas when he was in the draft – our secondary needed big time help back then – and we’re a bit envious of you having him…

24 hours till kickoff. Gonna be a long night!

Look guys. If I didn’t tell you I was nervous, I’d be blowing smoke. But let’s face it, this team has not forgotten last years playoff loss and the loss to the Rams. The bottom line is: This team is ANGRY and they’re fired up with an attitude. Very similar attitude since 09. But I feel it’s a stronger attitude. And they’re Hungry!
