A message from a Texans fan
Hi CSC,
I know I don't post here much, but I've been lurking here almost as long as I have lurked over at Battle Red Blog. I just want to say that I, along with a surprisingly large percentage of Texans fans, consider the Saints my NFC team. Now that my beloved squad is finally in the playoffs, I just want to take a moment to wish you guys the best of luck. I have always rooted for you since Brees came to the big easy (I'm from SoCal, and remember San Diego letting him go vividly), and if the Saints were ever in the playoffs they were who I would root for (especially against those damn Colts two years ago).
I feel like Houston and New Orleans share a special connection. From sticking together through tragedies in the gulf (which by the way, my father works for BP. He says sorry), to having joint off season practices every year, to playing each other in the pre and regular seasons this year, there is just something about the Texans and the Saints to me that says "well if my team can't get it, I would love for yours to have it". I truly do love the Saints, almost as much as I love the Texans, and I'm pretty sure Brees' post game speech after breaking the record is the only thing that has brought me tears this year besides Houston making the playoffs.
I guess, at the end of the day, what I'm trying to say is that I really do hope to see you in the Superbowl. There is no other opponent I would rather face in the big dance, and I'm pretty sure that even if we didn't win, the Saints are the only team that losing to wouldn't make me throw a chair through the window.
Good luck friends. If we don't get it, this Texan's fan has your back.

A lot of Saints fans are also Texans fans, too. We can relate to that whole waited-years-for-playoffs thing. Besides, the Texans have awesome uniforms (the real ones, not the all-reds, which suck really, really hard).
But as far as your dad is concerned: I waited, and not once did he call to apologize or even offer an explanation. Posting a second-hand apology on an internet sports board isn’t good enough. Tell him he owes me a beer, at least. (And I don’t even live down there anymore.)

I hope they are better than Abita Jockamo....only Abita I don't care for

Thanks SoCal
Good luck with your team. The Texans are my AFC choice as well. Until we meet in the SB that is.
Drew Brees....MVS Most Valuable Saint! Who Dat!!!
Thanks Man!
Pulling for you guys to sweep the AFC in the playoffs. Wish Schaub were playing.
I spent 8 years trying to reach him...and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...Evil.

Hatred strikes me as one of the few signs of life remaining in the world. This is another thing about the world which is upsidedown: all the friendly and likable people seem dead to me; only the haters seem alive.

Best of luck...especially against Baltimore. Something about that unibrow QB just gives me the willies.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
Very well put.
Thanks! Best of luck to your Texans, from one SoCal resident to another.

May the best team win! Nah…no one will beat my Saints. Here to 2 DAT! I’ll send you some love after we won the SUPERBOWL from the I.E.
"We, in our building, didn't feel like we needed to have Reggie Bush to have a successful offense. We've had lots of games over the last five years where Reggie was unavailable. And yet, we've been able to move the ball, score points and win games at the same rate as when we did have Reggie." -- Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis
Great season for ya'll
Good luck next week, and Andre is a frickin beast. Glad to see him healthy again. He ruined my fantasy league, but I still love him.
Stupid people are like slinkies. They're not really useful for anything, but it's still fun to watch them tumble down stairs.
Thanks much, SCT.
I have family in Houston (not hurricane related) and they would also love to see a Texans/Saints Super Bowl. My niece was born and raised in New Orleans but relocated to Houston. She has an 11 year old son who was born in Houston. “The little jerk refuses to say ‘Who Dat’”.
Good luck in the playoffs. Beat the crap out of the ravens (a fowl closely related to the falcon, in football terms).

Happy for Houston.
Good luck the rest of the way.

As a long time Saints supporter, I was happy to see the Texans extending Bum Phillips the red carpet treatment Saturday. I realize Wade’s the DC, but there’s no connection there otherwise, as Bud Adams (Bum’s old boss) is now in Nashville. That’s pretty damn classy of the organization to recognize old man Oail’s contributions to the game and to the city of Houston. They Luv’d their Blue and plenty of old school Saints fans still respect Bum, too. After all, he’s one who landed us our first true HOFer in Rickey Jackson, as well as Morten Andersen and many other franchise notables, who would go on to have success under Jim Mora.
