Sean Payton HATES to punt
"It also sucks because your opponent now has the ball, which means they can score," Payton added. "I hate that."

I never really thought about it in that way before, but they are right on, right on!!
I just had a rap with Santa and we took us a little stroll
And all I want for Christmas is the Saints in the Super Bowl
You guys DID catch that this was the Onion... right???
Although for once they may actually be part right. Going for it three times on fourth down, once in his own territory? That’s either a TON of faith in his offense, none in his defense, contempt for their defense, or most likely partly all three.
ten tons in the offense… not a comment about the defense…. other than he has faith in them to STOP the other team if they don’;t convert
I agree with FriarBob
It’s all three. It can be a comment about your defense’s inability to stop them when they have the ball. Rather punt than see them with the ball again with opportunity to score. It can also be what you say, belief that the risk in punting is worth the reward if you believe that your defense can stop them even if your offense doesn’t convert.. And last, it’s faith in your offense to convert.

yes, I did FB
but thanks for checking in – it was a hilarious article
the “quotes” from the coaches with the psuedo-truthiness (like in real articles) that’s really so sarcastic was great
Having the ball is better than not having the ball. And if you punt,
not only does it mean you don't have the ball anymore—
it means you didn't score, which sucks.

I've even taken a bit from it as a "tongue in cheek" sigline for now...
I wish coaches really answered questions this way, and then reporters would print it…HA!

What was that Sean Payton (NFL head coach)???
Possessions are important (so important that you use a passionate word like “hate” when talking about your opponents getting possession), and you hate when other teams gets a possession?
How about the link to another article at the bottom of the page?
