Stolen to use elsewhere...

…anywhere that loudmouthed NIIIINERRRRRZZAAZZZ fans are yabbering on about how their most awesome defense ever, anywhere, and their home field advantage will make this a blowout in their favor.

Thanks M-E! :)

hate to be a downer,

But they were playing another dome team. But let me say, I think the Saints offense will roll on any surface.

Who Dat?

If GW can use the same gameplan he used towards the end of the season

by takng away their main threat, Frank Gore, and the O-line can keep Brees as clean as they did against the Lions. I don’t see How we don’t roll in SF. I don’t give a crap what kinda surface they are on. Sproles played on grass all his career till he came to N.O. and Graham seems to dominate on grass just fine. The only thing that can beat us is ourselves. If the Offense does its job and the Defense stays disciplined we can roll no doubt.

" I’ve never done drugs but I think watching Matty Ice stare blankly towards the field as Drew Brees kneels down while clock hits zero in a playoff game would be like doing cocaine off a strippers @$$#….yeah that good.

Sadly, Frank Gore is not the main threat.

Other fans will disagree, but I think he lost a step, or two.

The numbers back up your argument. Your team’s well rounded enough you can’t really focus on one thing. You have talent at RB, TE and WR…just have to play smart D.

which numbers are those?

gore’s numbers? this general decline that started after week 8 (that may have resulted from an injury)

or alex smith’s numbers? 12 games with 213 or fewer yards this year

by Dan Kelly on Jan 9, 2012 2:50 PM CST up reply actions

Yet 13-3 in the W-L column

That should tell you something about how important passing yards are.

I’m asking jeff which numbers he’s looking at to say that the run game is not their strength.

I didn’t say teams couldn’t win without passing as much as the Saints do.

by Dan Kelly on Jan 9, 2012 11:08 PM CST up reply actions

That is good.

If you were shaking in somebody’s else boots that would be weird.

I was referring to Gore's obvious declining numbers.

they ended up 8th in rushing (127.8/game)… we were 6th (134.9/game).

in the last 3 games….

we averaged: 179.7/game (second in the league)

they averaged: 131.3/game (12th in the league)

by Dan Kelly on Jan 10, 2012 1:55 PM CST up reply actions

Hunter’s a good back, but mostly a third down back. Their numbers were inflated because of the sheer number of rushes they had. Kind of like our passing statistics every time a GB guy drops by. Or our rushing defensive numbers since nobody runs against us.

Alex doesn't need to throw that much.

People should understand that he isn’t throwing it more than 20ish times a game, and that’s part of the gameplay.

We don’t win by passing for 400 yards. We don’t need to. Alex does the on when he needs to. He just don’t have to that often.

“well rounded”
HA!!!
Can always count on you, jeff.

by Breesus Christ Superstar on Jan 9, 2012 4:28 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

I've noticed that as well but my point is that the running game is you greatest strength

We’ve been much better against the run the 2nd half of the season and I think our DBs can do a decent job against your recieving corps enough to get off the field on 3rd down. No disrespect to Crabtree cuz he’s a good WR but he’s no Calvin Johnson. If we stay solid against the run and get some pressure on Alex Smith, and make sure we take care of the ball on offense we can come out with a win. It’ll be a battle no doubt but I think if we do what we’re supposed to do and do it well we can roll.

There is no grass in Candlestick.

It will be mud with some ice. We are borrowing a Zamboni from Sharks.

Better buy some freezer units too to cool down the 60s and sunny forcasts for the next week straight.

Damn. The weather man missed the memo.

It was supposed to be a miserable January. Not a frigging summer.

by Mindless on Jan 9, 2012 3:45 PM CST up reply actions

Will you be borrowing a quarterback, too?

In Breesus' name we play

by Breesus Christ Superstar on Jan 9, 2012 4:30 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Smith will be fine.

He is good for 24 to 27 points, and if that is not enough, then we deserve to lose.

by Mindless on Jan 9, 2012 9:38 PM CST up reply actions

Yep, the Saints are a disastrously bad road team (5-3 this year, clearly a losing record)

How will they be able to compete outdoors against the almighty Aldon Smith

Expect more...you'll get more...and if you don't, start over!

by Stilljreming on Jan 9, 2012 2:23 PM CST reply actions

Sacasm noted...

But we are all very stoked on Aldon. How could you not like the kid, as a football fan?

Just like any football fan is enjoying watching Brees.

by Mindless on Jan 9, 2012 3:46 PM CST up reply actions

Oh, not true

You should read some of the Brees hate on the Falcons site.

I’ve hated different football players at different periods of my life; but I never hated, for instance, Joe Montana, even when he was a division rival and stabbed our dreams in the heart twice a season. He was just…good. Not a jerk, not full of himself, just very good—and so he kept beating us. But I didn’t hate him.

But there are a lot of Falcons fans who wish death on Drew Brees, and I don’t get it. He’s such a likeable guy, what’s to hate?

I have no idea.

I am a long time 49r fan, and Drew is currently my favorite quarterback. I just hope he will have a worst game of his season next Saturday, then he can revert to being awesome.

by Mindless on Jan 9, 2012 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

Those fans are dumb.

I love watching Brees. And he is a great dude. You guys are lucky to have a player and person of his caliber in one package.

by Breesus Christ Superstar on Jan 9, 2012 4:31 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

You have to admit

5-3 (including losses to two teams in STL and TB that we absolutely housed) and 28 ppg is a LOT different than 8-0 with 40 ppg.

Not disastrous, but night and day from your home games.

Saints average 27.2 points a game on the road.

49ers average 27.6 points a game at home

This doesn't help our argument, lol.

I'd rather not wait until I'm dead to figure out how to live.

We win by 0.4 point.

Case closed. Can’t argue with statistics.

LMAO!

Have you met CP?

by Just 'Nother Day on Jan 10, 2012 1:23 AM CST up reply actions

Now, that's a stat worth noting

I wonder if we outweigh them on point differential road/home?

by singleblow on Jan 10, 2012 12:35 PM CST up reply actions

'Can't win on grass'

and ‘never won an away playoff game’ fall in the same category as ‘never won a superbowl’ and ‘no team has ever gotten to the superbowl after losing the last three games of the season’.
Another meaningless factoid, to fill air time on the pregame shows. It generates more discussion than ‘The Saints are an unstoppable force the likes of which the NFL has never seen, does anyone really think SF can beat them? No? Ok let’s discuss Tim Tebow some more.’

In Breesus' name we play

by Breesus Christ Superstar on Jan 10, 2012 7:58 AM CST reply actions

That is absolutely correct.

But if we did not have some meaningless facts to chew on, what’s the fun?

by Mindless on Jan 10, 2012 12:11 PM CST up reply actions

True. I’d have no reason to scream at the television. What would I do to fill the time?

In tongues.

This isn't about rules, it's about manners. Now there's no rule that says that I cant come over here and fart on your entree. But I don't do it. Why? Because it's not good manners.
