Saints are unstoppable
Honestly, I don't see anybody that is going to get in the way of the Saints Super Bowl run this year. Yes, San Fran has a good defense, but are you telling me they will shut down Brees, Ivory, Thomas, Sproles, Graham, and the other weapons? Not gonna happen. The Saints didn't get over 600 yards total offense and 45 points in a playoff game against a much more dangerous team for nothing. I am also hearing the Saints defense isn't consistent enough. So you are saying a guy that averages barely 190 yards per game is going to slice and dice the Saints? You are saying the Saints defense that held CJ to 23 yards, AP to 60 yards, and Turner to 39 yards is going to get ran over by Frank Gore? Also not gonna happen. Oh, and how bout that weather in San Fran, atrocious! Don't worry, it's only projected to be sunny and 60 degrees. There is no reason to bet against the Saints right now. They are the hottest team in the postseason. All those team led workouts that no other team did? Yea, this is when that comes in handy. Mark my words, this game will be over in the 3rd quarter. Saints will already have 40 plus points on the board and San Fran will not even have 20.

I actually gave this a chance
Until you referred to the Lions as a “much more dangerous team than the Lions”. That’s cute. And if you think it’ll be 40-20 after three quarters, you’re insane. Nice to know you don’t know much about the team you’re playing Saturday.
That is beyond hilarious.

Im insane? How am i insane to think that this will be a close game when your offense’s most points in a game is only 34 and 33 points AND has allowed the most sacks in a season? And do you really think that 49ers defense will be able to keep the Saints under 30 for an entire game? If the Saints score more than 30 points that game will be over. YOU obviously don’t know the team you are playing. Maybe they can contain the Saints until halftime, but you saw how that turned out i.e Detroit.

The 9ers defense is nothing like the Lions…this will be a one score game.
I don’t see any 49er fans saying anything except they think our defense has a chance to slow your offense enough to keep the game close, yet we are the ones that are overconfident and cocky?
You guys can continue going around expecting to drop 45 on your way to GB though…

Not on the road against a D like this one.
It could happen, but the odds are slim. Our defense coupled with a careful, ball control offense keeps your O on your sidelines. if we make mistakes and give up a few big plays, it will get ugly quick for us.
Should be a hell of a game, no matter the outcome.

But if you're too careful
3 and out. Saints Ball.
"I'm in the Courtroom screaming Who Dat on the double, serving gumbo with a shovel, dog i'm on another level" -Jay Electonica
We can handle punting.
Lee will pin the Saints super close to their goal line. Field position has been a huge advantage all season for us.
Best starting field position on offense, best opponent starting position on defense. First in both.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
Last time an “elite defense” pinned us by our goal line we just found their weak corner, picked on him for about five big plays, and went 95 yards in about 2 minutes to win the game.
Oh and we’ve basically spent all season long converting 3rd-and-10s like nobody’s business… BOTH on the road AND at home. In fact, some of us are MORE comfortable with 3rd-and-10 than 3rd-and-1, though that’s a changed a bit now that our running game is so much better than last year.
Field position only matters if you can get to Drew before he can dig us out of it. According to raw sack statistics, you should find this very easy. But don’t hold your breath. You faced a LOT of putrid OL teams this year, and even if ours isn’t THAT great it’s still better than most of those you’ve faced, and our QB is absolutely MUCH better than ANY you’ve faced yet.
The Niners allow about 35% on 3rd down.
The Saints success on 3rd down will be one of the bigger deciding factors.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I also look
for a lot of turnovers. 49ers have been at creating them by stripping the ball, and putting enough pressure on QB’s to force a few errant throws.
THAT is what will keep us in the game, and keep it closer than the Saints want it to be. If this were in the Superdome, I’d be worried about my team’s chances.
As it’s in SF, I just don’t see the Saints marching in, and then imposing their will. I look for a good game, and a close game.

The Saints like aiming for turnovers too, and Gore has been a fumbling machine for quite a bit of this year. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, because there’s at least some chance you actually might NOT win the turnover battle.

2 fumbles makes you a fumbling machine?

Sorry, I was working off second-hand (and incorrect) info… should have double-checked.
Of course, that doesn’t guarantee he won’t fumble… or that nobody else will either…
I like Pierre Thomas as a contact runner
But the Niners front seven has been great about having one defender stand a guy up or delay him, and another one strip the ball.
No offense to Thomas, but I look for Patrick Willis and Justin Smith to try to exploit his second efforts for turnovers.

Makes sense
But keep in mind, we set an NFL record for fewest fumbles this year with 6. If you are going to get a turnover, and good lord I hope you don’t, there is a higher probability that it will be a pick. Out of those 6 fumbles, only one was by one of our active RB’s. Pierre Thomas coughed one up in week 6.

But with us having the least turnovers in the NFL, and also the most takeaways in the NFL, and are playing at home, it’s pretty safe to say its a minuscule chance.

Role reversal 20+ yrs later
2011 Saints look more like the 49 ers juggernaut from the 80’s/early 90’s, Great QB, top WR’s, solid TE,(Jimmy Graham is a little more than solid, imo) dangerous offense.
2011 49ers look like the Bobby Hebert Saints, Great D, ball control, good K.
Two contrasting styles, but hauntingly similar historically.

Saints also have that power run (sneaky) that the 49ers used more often than you remembered with Craig and Rathman, ect. That certainly were not finesse although people thought of them as a west coast passing team first and foremost.

Not even close? LMFAO
Please be joking. Because that’s a joke.
You can make an argument for other players, but to say Rice isn’t close is foolish. And that’s not homerism. That’s common sense.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I believe he was voted GOAT by his peers was he not?
Jim Brown’s records have all been broken… Rice has some that may stand forever…
This.
I’m not even arguing this one.
Anybody who doesn’t consider Rice the best football player or close to it is eithe a massive hater or an idiot. Every position on the field you can make an argument for who the best is except wide receiver. No argument against Jerry.
I read the other day that Rice had something like 700 catches and close to 9000 yards, with three pro bowls and two super bowl appearances AFTER his 32nd birthday. I’ll have to find it, but it’s either that or close to it. Stupid numbers.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
This is why Jerry Rice is not the greatest player ever
He was a wide receiver. Big deal. To be the greatest player ever, you would have to be either:
1. A quarterback, since that’s by far the most important position; or
2. A two-way player.
The greatest quarterback ever automatically trumps the greatest wide receiver ever. You can make an excellent argument that that man is Joe Montana; but you could also make a good argument that it’s Johnny Unitas or Otto Graham. But only one quarterback has ever led the league in passing, punting, and interceptions in the same season, and that was Sammie Baugh, who gets my vote as the greatest all-around football player of all time.
Jerry played a long time, so he accumulated a lot of stats, and he was a dominant player for much of his career. But anyone who doesn’t think his “goat” status is a result of stat-padding is a homer, pure and simple.
"Sinn Féin, motherf*****s!"
No offense.....
But that is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. And it has NOTHING to do with being a homer. I’m sure you can find plenty of non-niner people who think Rice is one of, if not THE, greatest players ever.
The fact you basically say it can only be a QB or a player from fifty years ago (people don’t play iron man ball now days) is insanely ludicrous. The fact you write him off because he’s a WR is laughable. I can’t believe I’m arguing about this, but your comment is just insane.
Lmao. Only QBs and iron man players from the fifties are deserving? Amazing. Please God tell me other Saints fans don’t share this opinion.
If Rice isn’t at the top of the greatest players of all time list, even if not the main top, that’s the same as me coming up with some stupid logic to say Drew Brees isn’t a top ten QB right now.
Yes, it’s on THAT level of not making sense.

Just for fun....
Go google “Greatest NFL player of all time”. You’ll find lists and picks by analysts, bloggers, fans, NFL people, and past and present players.
Rice is pretty much on top of all of them. And he is in he top 3 or 4 of EVERY one. And some of those lists, like mentioned, are from people who actually played the game and were involved with teams as coaches or front office positions.
Maybe if he punted for us, you’d have a different opinion. Maybe Walsh should have taught him how to kick, too.

I don't understand you...
Why is it beyond your ability to let another person have their own opinion. So he doesn’t think Rice is the GOAT. Power to him. I don’t understand the need to consistently try to push your opinion on others.
Feel free to have your opinion, but let others have their own without feeling the need to call someone down for theirs.

So you can let me have mine that saying that is absurd.
Like I said, if you read it, that has nothing to do with being a Niners homer. That’s common sense. If some ou from Ninersnation said Drew Brees wasn’t a top QB, they can have that opinion. I would still tell them they are VERY wrong, Even if it makes zero sense.
I’m sure many of your fans may agree with me, but since you apparently want to make this about choosing sides with fandom, they may not see it. I have no issue with somebody saying he isn’t the greatest, but to say he isn’t in the conversation? Please….

Opinions go so far. When they make some logical sense. If one of us said Brees was no good and wasn’t close to being one of the best, you’d go ballistic. Because you know that’s wrong.
Nothing wrong with pointing out a major flaw in logic. Nothing at all.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I try not to do that.
You have an opinion. Good for you. I don’t need to understand your logic or agree with you. I won’t call someone stupid for having it. But you could actually argue that.
Arguing Rice isnt one of the greatest of all time, or Bree’s isn’t a super elite QB are far from the same kind of argument. Opinions are everyone’s right, but I have no problem telling somebody they went over the line.
And for what it’s worth, Sproles is better than Bush IMO.

Like it has anything to do with this year at all.
They were completely banged up. It came out afterward that Drew had a knee injury. He also admitted that the 2010 season actually felt like an extension of the 2009 season and they were exhausted.
My gut feeling was that they would lose and so I watched it at home. I didn’t dare miss sharing a playoff game in 2009. It still stung but we moved on.
Weak DBs?
Interesting. I’d think a couple pro bowlers back there would get a little more respect.

I look for our D to come out absolutely ferocious on Saturday, and put a physical beating on the Saints that will show up in the 4th quarter, when their team will not want anymore, and the Niners are just starting to peak…
That’s as much trash talk as I will allow myself on someone else’s board, but I do note that their team doesn’t seem to know as much about ours as vice-versa.

I have no idea what is going to happen this week. We have a great offense that I think can handle their great defense. Our defense isn’t great, but neither is their offense, so maybe our D will be enough to win that half of the game as well. But I’m sure 49er fans feel that their great D will overcome our great offense, and their middle of the road offense will handle our middle of the road defense. To be honest, nothing would surprise me this Saturday. Winning by 20, losing by 20, or anything in between. I just don’t know.

Maslow's theory of higher needs does not apply to Patrick Willis. He only has two needs: tackling people and finding people to tackle.
People thinking the Lions are more dangerous than the Niners
Is like saying Joe Flacco is a bigger threat than Drew Brees in the passing game. LoL

You should.

Your team has a great running D
But if you look at the stats it’s an average passing D
by mississippisaintsfan on Jan 11, 2012 4:07 PM CST up reply actions
And if you look closely at the stats
You see that teams pass a LOT more against us because trying to run on the 49ers is extremely ineffective.
You will also notice that we have a pretty ridiculous turnover ratio- part of that comes from all those passing “attempts”.

That's mostly because towards end of games,
Teams are passing due to being behind and not being able to run. The numbers aren’t flashy, but our secondary and linebackers make plenty of big plays in the passing game.

Ok if teams are passing to try and catch up
Shouldn’t your sack total be up we have played 3 teams that have more sacks then ya’ll
I’m not trying to be a smart a** about this but if your team could just pin it’s ears back and come after the QB and your DE’s are as good as everyone says how come you tied for 9th in sacks

42 sacks in 16 games
Isnt terrible. And you have to understand, we are the anti-Saints in that we very rarely blitz. Those numbers are from rushing three or four consistently.
I think it would be completely different if we blitzed all the time. 42 sacks while mainly rushing 3-4 players is pretty good in my book.

What side does Aldon Smith play
I only ask because we had problems with our right tackle earlier in the year our left tackle is much better I was wondering who he would go up against

In what little I’ve seen…he plays all over the place. Seen him on the left as well as the right and even seen him blitzing from a tackle spot one time.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
The problem with the Niners offense
is that it’s pretty much built to beat us. You can say what you want about Alex Smith (how many guys are on that team named Smith anyway, for God’s sake), but the guy doesn’t take risks, and doesn’t turn the ball over. He makes high percentage passes, and we often forget how to tackle. That’s kind of scary. I’d almost prefer a “gunslinger” type that we might be able to rattle or force into a mistake than face the infamous “game manager.” In the first half against Detroit, they were just picking us apart bit by bit in the middle of the field. Expect more of the same. I hope the D is ready to get back to basics, because the Niners “basic” offense is actually going to be a big issue, I think.
WTB moar Smiths
Alex and the WRs have been making plays lately. Alex has been more consistent in the vertical game and the WRs are taking some short passes to the house. Frankly, the biggest problem is the coaches taking the foot off the pedal.
As great as our D is, the last thing I want to see is Brees with the ball at the end of a one score game. Our D has come through almost every time this year, but it gives me a freeking heart attack to watch given our recent history.
i seem to remember a #81 player.. little tough to cover..
& i would venture that stafford didn’t throw for 5,000+ yards by closing his eyes and hoping for the best when he gets rid of the ball..

Thanks for showing your lack of football knowledge.
We beat that potent passing team, too. At their place. But thanks for noticing we can beat steam led by a 5000 yard passer with…..our defense.
If we control the clock and play good defense, it’ll be hard for Breesus Christ to sling TDs from the sideline.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
oh no you didn't... (inside joke)
You can control the clock all you want… all that controlling the clock does is reduce the number of scoring opportunities for BOTH teams.
If you’re using all your scoring opportunities to score field goals and we’re using most of ours to score touchdowns, we’ll win by well over the 3.5 points that Vegas is spotting us.
You must have missed the "good defense" part.
If our D plays like they’re capable, you won’t score many TDs.
You’re not as scary on grass on the road. Our D is capable of stoping the Saints numerous times.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I look for a lot of turnovers
by our D. That’s how we will keep up with your offense.
Do I guarantee us a win? Absolutely not, nobody knows. But our offense, while not explosive, doesn’t make a ton of mistakes.
The Saints will be forced to pass a LOT due to how hard running against the Niners is, and that will expose them to our pass rush, tipped balls, and a lot of potential INTs.

Same here.
A lot of fans on here write off our D as overrated and our offense as horrible.
You don’t get to 13-3 being horrible and overrated. It’s just surprising that even when we show facts to back up the Saints are not near as good on the road as they are at home, they ignore it and still claim they will steamroll us. And a few on here keep repeating that.
It’s like Saints fans are allowed to be super confident, but when we show our confidence, it’s being cocky. Weird.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I just don’t understand why people think us 9er fans are being delusional or cocky, far from it. We’ve all said numerous times the Saints offense can be down right terrifying. We just have plenty of reason to believe our defense can at least slow them down and the numbers back that up…
I’ve said it time and time again, it is going to be a one score game somewhere in the 20s-low 30s, most likely.

It’s the fact not a single person here that I can see has once written off your defense. Yet almost every single one has written off our offense. The stats. For the love of everything that is good in life won’t you please consider the stats!!!!
The outside effect. We won’t be in a dome. It doesn’t matter that the Saints are rolling out 40-burgers in points in there last several games as they were all inside!!!
It’s a good thing the Dome is a vacuum with no air effect at all. The potential for wind and this weird natural organic green stuff under their feet will reduce their ability by half at least. If not more than that.
Plus every D we faced were horrible and couldn’t tackle and the refs were biased to us.
Really our team is nothing more than untalented scam artists who need the help of the league and the ref’s to win games. Why can’t you understand this???
Plus, apparently the 49ers Defense is made up of supernatural deities that make offensive players cringe and crap nirvana.
Alex Smith is actually a left handed QB and is toying with the league. On Saturday he will play with his natural hand and lead his team to scoring 87 points.

IF you want stats
One of the thing that gives me, and a lot of Niner fans, cause for optimism is the point differential between what the Saints have scored at home (averaging in the low 40’s), and on the road (high 20’s).
That is why a lot of us think that our excellent defense has a fair shot against your (admittedly incredibly explosive) offense.
Are you willing to concede that this is fair? Or are we just not having a reasonable discussion?

That is more than fair, and has been what i've been trying to argue the entire time.
Yet pretty much nobody wants to go there. Holding the Saints to be 20-29 points away, especially by your defense is very probable. It’s the people claiming our O has 0% chance of doing anything against your D because we’re on the road that is laughable.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.

those people are ridiculous, no argument there, but on the other side, there are plenty of people on here (not saying you are one of them) that are discounting the Niners in the same way, yet we are the ones being labeled cocky and arrogant.

Ive said that EXACT thing
And I got called cocky and a homer repeatedly.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
The homer parts I see...and I'm not saying you're one of them because I can't remember, and I'm busy at work and somewhat annoyed...
Is when we bring up our running game. We have an excellent running game when Payton has a brain fart and decides to actually call a run play. And when we do…all I see is 9er fans laughing saying you can’t run on us…we gave up 1 100 yard rusher all year.
That’s nice…that means you have a great D…but it HAS happened before. To totally disregard the possibility of the Saints being able to run is mind boggling…especially considering the formations we run out of. Do I think we’ll be largely successful? No. But I don’t discount the possibility it can happen. I give us about a 20% chance of exiting this game with over 100 yards rushing at 4.0 a clip. Not a great chance at all…but still a chance considering our talent.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
You have to admit at least
Even with a very good run game, this is THE hardest defense in the league to run on. By a good margin.
It doesn’t make us cocky when, in fact, nobody has been able to run on us. That’s not being a homer. If the saints had those numbers, I’d say it would be a safe bet we wouldn’t be able to run on you. Facts are facts.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I do agree
This will be the best run D we have been up against.
Question to you: Have the niners faced a RB group with as many diverse skill sets as the Saints (and who)? Or have they been more situations against one true power back (i.e. Turner, Forte, etc).
I like Hamburgers!
Uh oh...better put an Asterisk on it.
Usually I think it's been a single back.
I don’t know for sure, but a few teams ran a couple backs against us, but it was usually each teams feature back getting a vast majority of carries.
It does worry me s little that your committee will keep your backs fresher than most, but I still have faith in our run D. Brees is what (naturally) scares us if he gets hot.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I agree you're by far the best defense against the run.
I’ll I’m saying…is to completely discount the idea that the Saints could establish a run game is flat out silly. Is it likely….no….is it possible…yes. You’re the number 1 rush D….but we were the number 6 rushing team. It’s not like we’re terribly establishing the run when we choose to. Like I said…I give us a 20% shot at it.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
I'll give you that.
It’s not so much niner dominance I see, but. I think we can all agree you’ll have more success in the air. I’m sure your coaches knowing this, and they will attack more through the air.
What I mean is I don’t see the saints trying to pound us on the ground. They k is our run d is fantastic, and your passing game is fantastic. Take your shot with the best odds. Which for you, is definitely thru thre air.

No, you're looking at excuses to hype your team.
Nothing wrong with that, by the way.
But, reality shows that this Saints team is not going to wither and die simply because they are going up to treasured Candlestick to face the allegedly baddest defense known to mankind. They are facing a good defense and a slightly better than average offense that is geared to win close games…but the Niners are facing an all-world offense and a defense that has been able to shut down other teams enough for the offense to slam the door. Ask Chris Johnson, AP, and MJD.
Unless Michael Crabtree becomes Megatron and Barren Davis becomes Tony Gonzalez, all you have is that D, Alex Smith, Frank Gore, and home field advantage. Whether that will be enough to do the job, we’ll see on Saturday. I will tip my hat to you guys if you win, but I remain confident that playoff experience and superior personnel will carry the day.
I will say what I said about the Lions. the 49ers are a better team than they were at the middle of the season. Problem is…so are the Saints.
Thanks for reassuring me you haven't even been reading our posts.
We simply keep pointing out the numbers that your team isn’t as scary on the road and/or outdoors.

"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
As a professional number cruncher.
It is possible to put together numbers in many different ways that work for or against an argument. In the end numbers are just a mathematical product of a specific outcome that you are measuring. They don’t take into consideration numerous other factors or situational anomalies. If they did, whichever of your kickers threw the TD would be in line for several records and a mega contract as a QB.
Personally I am getting extremely tired of the same statistical arguments being thrown up (from both sides).
I like Hamburgers!
Uh oh...better put an Asterisk on it.
Stats are not Facts.
First, none of these stats have enough sample size to be believable. Minimum sample size should be 30. In a pinch, no less than 15. If your stock fund only has 4 stocks in it, GET OUT QUICK!.
Second, all this data-mining is only helpful if the game were a random process. But it’s not. It’s all conditional probabilities. You play the run, we pass. You pull your LB’s back, we run. and Vice Versa. Spy vs Spy. Both our coaches will try to arrange some key favorable match-ups to produce enough big plays to win the game.
Do you have a chance? Yes. Do we? Yes.
Remember when everyone preferred playing on natural turf?
Remember when fans loved watching players slide around on muddy fields?
Bring on the fun!
No one has written off your offense at all, quite the contrary.
Every one of us has said it will be the defenses biggest test of the season, no doubt about it. We just have confidence that our defense can at least slow you down; for a number of reasons that we’ve already stated. I’m not sure how you can look at the PPG outdoors on grass and not at least say that there appears to be a trend, whether or not you think it will matter on Saturday is different, but it will have some impact for sure.
Putting up high 20s-30s like I expect is quite good against our defense. The only thing I’ve been writing off is people coming in saying the Saints will drop 40 and win by multiple scores.

The thing that’s annoying me…is yes, the 40 burger homer people here. But it is a Saints blog, and you’re going to find the homers here. But I’ve seen an equal number of SF homers, aka, trolls when not found on their own blog, proclaiming the constant 10 point a game SF defense against the Saints.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
That's fine
I don’t get the sense many 49er fans think we are going to hold you to anything near as low as 10 points.
Clearly you do, so obviously there is something there, I don’t know how strong it is though.

I have the game at either 24 - 20...or 27-24...depending on which way I eventually flop on who will win the game.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
I also said 27-24.
Maybe 30-27. For whoever wins.
All this talk is fun, and I honestly think this will be the best game this weekend. it’ll be a dogfight.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
Should be highly entertaining.
For the record…my 24-20 is the Saints victory…the 27-24 the SF one.

Yup, 27-24 is my score
If the score gets in the 30s we lose, stays mid 20s we have a good shot.

They keep saying that
It’s like they have it in their heads that no one respects them and so they have assumed it means us too. They were freaking out when we hadn’t started covering the upcoming game by Monday morning. We aren’t going to come out and say your defense is totally going to rape our offense so if that’s what you are looking for it’s not going to happen on a Saints blog.
I think more than anything they haven’t felt this feeling in awhile and are getting overly excited.
We are excited.
It has been a while. But that doesn’t change the fact that a lot of your fans keep changing what we are really saying. We have praised your offense since we started chatting over here. Repeatedly. When we praise our defense, that’s not knocking your offense. And when we point out REPEATEDLY that the numbers show for a fact you aren’t as scary in the road, that makes us overly cocky for some reason.
Logic is not that hard a concept. You all keep saying we keep talking about our defense completely shutting you down, and from what I see, that’s not even close to being accurate.
But it’s whatever. Ou all are gonna keep reading what you want.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
Lol
And when we praise our offense we are not knocking your defense. It’s a two way street. You might say our numbers aren’t as good on the road, we say you haven’t seen an offense like ours.
Like I said, if you are looking for more than what you are getting right now, you are not going to get it. None of your stats are going to change our feelings about what our team can do and vice versa.
You guys are doing the same thing, the cockiness is coming in where you think you are being more subjective than us when from our view you are not
I understand that.
But some have knocked our defense. There was a lot of talk from some saying our defense only looks good becaus of our “terrible, awful, sucky division”.
And nobody said we were trying to change your opinion. But acknowledging the facts we simply point out wouldn’t be downing your team.
I know our offense is limited. I’m not gonna try to ignore facts and say its not. Kinda what facts are for.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
Those are valid numbers to point to…some of the problem though is the skewed numbers because of the clear lack of them. Outside on Grass…we played GB, Tenn, Carolina, TB, Jacksonville. Not a large number of games.
In those games we had over 450 yards of offense I believe in every single game….450! That’s scary no matter how you look at. We’re averagin 354 yards passing per game on grass. On grass we average 110 yards rushing per game. Against GB and Carolina we put up 30+ points. In Jacksonville and Tennesee…we notably stalled in the redzone and settled for field goals inside the 15 yard line. The Tampa Game you can toss up as a strange anomaly as we lost our head coach and main play caller in the first drive of the game.
Where our numbers outside on grass away from home are indeed not the same as at the dome….EVERY team plays better at home generally speaking. Our numbers on away games, are in no way shape or form…not scary. They’re still scary….just not inescapably frightening like they are at home.
-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.
I agree completely.
I’ve said numerous times your offense isn’t as scary on the road. Doesn’t mean it’s still not amazing.
If this game was in NO, many of us would be terrified. Luckily, it isn’t, which helps us out a little.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
I don't get the non-scared angle.
Not from you…but from a whole lot of people on both sides. Anyone who doesn’t have this rated as a 10 on the worry scale…is flat out being stupid. It’s win or go home…if you’re not worried and on the edge of your seat…you obviously don’t understand the gravity of the situation.
Giants beat Patriots…Seattle beat the Saints, on and on and on. Anything happens in the playoffs. You don’t get a second chance to make things right.

Oh, scared in that sense makes....well, sense.
We all just mean that your offense is scarier in the Superdome.
Niners fans are just more comfortable seeing them in white jerseys in the sunlight. Black jerseys equal more speed, yards, and points.
"Bears are crazy, Willie. They'll bite your head off if you're wearing steak on it."
Just don't ask us about the Saints in black pants....those that particular fear has been going away as of late.

those = though

"Not that different"???
Other than the fact that the Saints can run the football (160+ ypg, 6+ yards per carry) while the Lions simply couldn’t; that the Saints have far greater depth (PT, Ivory, and Sporles can get 100 yds rushing by themselves if they played a full game as a featured back the way Frank Gore has), and in fact, the Saints rushing team actually outgained SF’s rushing game throughout the year..and that’s WITH their record setting passing game), and the fact that the O-line has three Pro-Bowl linemen, while Detroit has..well, none)??
Other than those facts….and the fact that Detroit was struggling during that portion of the middle season, while the Saints are off 8 straight victories??
Yeah…not that different.
Let’s get to the actual game and see what really happens.
i'm worried about this game
but more than that, im sick of these 9er fans.
