Yesterday was a heartbreaking thriller I may add. It was like watching one of those few horror movies where you're wondering who the killer is, but never see the persons face at the end of the movie or wondered what the motivation was. Well, the good news is, there was some improvement on the O'line and Brees numbers were great. But the fact remains, we did not get the W. The red zone woes hurt us again including some key dropped passes. The Saints offense is nowhere near what it was in 2011 or previous seasons before that. However, this 2012 offense is still very dangerous and capable of scoring 40 plus burgers if we get TD's in the red zone and punt less. Another factor is our defense leaves the opponents offense out on the field way too long.
Anyway, this is a Saints team who went through horrific allegations this off-season which has included no head coach or assistant head coach, no GM and a totally horrific dismantled defense. And yet they are still fighting every game. Yesterday I saw some improvement. So who's to say we can't win this coming Sunday night? Well, I have a feeling we're going to get our first win this Sunday night. I think they will come out fired up.
I know there's nothing positive about being 0-4 and I agree. But this team is fighting every game till the end. This is not like the Aint's in the old days. On ESPN earlier, they mentioned the Eagles who were the ugliest 3-1 team ever. Their games have been horrid. But hey, they're finding ways to win at the end, we're not.
Bill Parcells would still tell you today: "You are what your record says you are". I couldn't agree more with that statement. Losing sucks no doubt. But this is where we are right now, and it's expected. You can bet your sweet butt Payton and Loomis are taking notes and will come back strong next season. However, I'm still focused in the now, whether we keep losing or not, (which I hope not) I will still watch my Saints week after week and continue to support them 110% win lose or draw. Why? Because I'm a true fan that supports my team win lose or tie. If a fan can go through a 1-15 season in 1980 like I did, that's a true dedicated rabid football fan. I love my team no matter what.
Now how about focusing on getting our first win Sunday night? This dangerous Saints offense can do it. TD's in the red zone and catch the frigging ball!
Go Saints!
