Your daily collection of New Orleans Saints news and opinion. TODAY'S HEADLINE: Saints sign OT William Robinson to help cover O-line while Strief and Brown recover from injuries
Saints sign T William Robinson who was briefly with team last year. Also cut Greg Camarillo. Robinson is a 5 year vet from SDSU, undrafted.
Ted Cottrell reduced Ed Reed's one-game suspension to only a $50,000 fine. Wow...
@SportsTaxMan points out, Ed Reed's $50,000 fine is tax deductible. Tax Benefit at 35% = $17,. Actual cost of fine = $32,500.
Not much more enjoyable these days than seeing Goodell look like a fool. His authority is being undermined at every angle.
Oh, please. League fondles itself in front of everyone as a show of power, reduces suspension on appeal, legitimizes appeal process.
Now, when Tagliabue f***s all the bounty players with same suspensions, they can point to Reed and say "BUT LOOK, APPEALS ARE VALID"
They're playing the media and the fans like a f***ing fiddle. S***, I expected better from some of you.
Whole thing was orchestrated, premeditated. Goodell and Cottrell playing ball together
Now anyone ever to challenge the legitimacy of the appeals process will be met with "REED! REED!"

There should be no hitting in the head but a moving target and malice not always involved. Playing defense in NFL becoming more difficult
Given status, Ed Reed punishment an attention-getter. NFL deserves credit for trying to eliminate using the helmet or hitting in head.
It's ridiculous that in the past 3 years Ed Reed has prob played over 3000 plays and gets suspended one game for 3 plays
Why the Saints' win Sunday was a lot bigger than it might seem:http://www.moosedenied.com/undead/
Happiness is meant to be a part of who you are NOT an experience that passes by
Saints face division leaders the next 3 games: vs SF (Nov. 25), at ATL (Nov. 29) & at NYG (Dec. 9)
Harbaugh already being purposefully cryptic about who will start at QB between Alex Smith & Kaepernick. Making the Saints gameplan for both
49ers HC Jim Harbaugh on QB situation: "I usually tend to go with the guy that has the hot hand and we have two that have a hot hand."
Through Week 11, Brees leads the NFL in TD passes (28) & is 2nd in passing yds (3,066)
If only Saints penalties had been appealed, decided on lightning-fast Reed-like time frame. I know. I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.

Perhaps over the last 3 seasons or so, a blowout road win over a bottom-feeder might have drawn yawns. But not this season, no sir. This season, especially at this particular point in the season, it's a pretty big f***in' deal.

REALLY, ED REED GETS THIS KIND OF APPEAL PROCESS BUT SAINTS PLAYERS DON'T?:
Ed Reed’s suspension is reduced to $50,000 fine | ProFootballTalk
The speed with which everything transpired makes us wonder whether the NFL simply wanted to get the attention of players by issuing the suspension, with every expectation that the suspension would be overturned. Reed’s name recognition and lack of reputation as a big hitter helped send the message; the dramatically expedited appeal process ensured that Reed and the Ravens would suffer no competitive disadvantage.
