Despite taking care of business against the Dallas Cowboys today, the New Orleans Saints are officially eliminated from the 2012 NFL playoff race.
The Minnesota Vikings pulled off a surprising upset win in Houston today, defeating the Texans 23-6 and officially closing the door on any playoff chance the Saints may have had.
At the very least, a 9-7 record will be needed to snatch the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. Even with a win against the Cowboys today, the Saints can only hope to finish the year at 8-8.
I guess this was Minnesota's way of exacting revenge on the Saints, albeit three years later, for beating them in the 2009 NFC Championship game.
