Sean Payton will remain the head coach of the New Orleans Saints for another five years, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports. Glazer has broken the news via Twitter:

I'm reporting the Saints and Sean Payton have "agreed in principle" to a new contract extension to remain head coach of the Saints

Well, this is great news. First of all, it puts an end to all the obnoxiously stupid speculation that Payton was heading to Dallas or the Jets. Pfft.

It also means the rest of the league can expect a thorough ass whooping from the Saints in 2013 now that the best coach in the league has had the opportunity to sit back and watch for a year. God, I can't wait!!!
