Would you like to see the Saints sign Albert Haynesworth?

It has finally happened. The Bucs released Albert Haynesworth. We all know the Saints loving signing those 1 year deals for players who want to ring chase. Big Shaun Rogers didn't work out. I mean he was okay but not dominant in any aspect. So the question is simple. Do you want the Saints to take a chance on Albert Haynesworth?I will vote yes for 3 million with the understanding that we will Bill Belichick his but if he doesn't produce. What you think?

I think he can't play in the 3-4

I think you get him in training camp in the 4-3 and kick the tires. I mean if he makes the team he must show us something. If not, well nothing lost noting ventured.

just playing devils advocate…

- don’t Bucs play mostly a 4-3? I know they have a bunch of young guys, but if he was dominant, they’d keep him.

- the Patriots played a 4-3 on a large percentage (more than half) of their snaps last year.

- and finally, we’d lose the opportunity to evaluate other players who want to work and learn and win

Valid Points

I mean how about bringing him in for training camp. He doesn’t look the part kick him to the curb. He is getting up there and should be ring chasing IMO.

I thought you were saying none of these need apply and I thought it didn’t even apply to this applicant, and then yeah, I realized you were saying No to the prospect in every language.

No, I didn’t think it could possibly be you being an exclusionary discriminator. It’s just me being under caffienated.

Didn't think he was worth the 98 million the Skins paid him when he was a rookie

AND I STILL DON’T THINK HE WORTH IT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE PAYS HIM

(slight, friendly correction)

The 100M he got from the Skins was his second contract. He played (fairly well) for the Titans… but , you’re right, not at all worth the 100M.

Thanks Dan but I think I forgot the signing bonuses

But if any team is going to pay that much to a player it should come at the end of the season and not up front this way he has to perform so he can paid.

how long do you want the game to take?

they’re already long enough as it is. We’d still be waiting for him to get the ball when the come back from commercials.

I’m guessing he goes to Detroit and reunites with Schwartz

Nah

New Orleans is known for its food. Bring Fat Albert here and he will be using a fork lift to get around after 3 weeks, then again that might be a pretty impenetrable offensive line if we move him.

Depends on how cheap he comes. I wouldn’t be against kicking the tires, but he has been with several teams since being a disaster with Washtington and hasn’t shown a lot wherever he’s been. Leading me to believe that he either no longer has it or doesn’t care enough to use it. And I doubt he would want to come in at an agreeable price.

by Drunkamania on Feb 15, 2012 5:48 PM CST reply actions

Nope

If the Patriots can’t get him going, nobody can.

by JellyPhantom on Feb 15, 2012 6:16 PM CST reply actions

This is a good point. If Bill Belichick and that organization couldn’t get this guy motivated, it’s pretty darn presumptuous of us to assume that the Saints can do better.

by Drunkamania on Feb 15, 2012 6:34 PM CST up reply actions

he seems like a nice guy

And with all the toilet reinforcement work completed in the locker room on behalf of Shaun Rogers, why not?

Wow.

You’d think the organization would be able to afford nicer a— gaskets than that.

Moot issue.

What Problem child has Payton bought into so far in his tenure? He didn’t even have the patience for Donte Stallworth. Don’t see Haynesworth being high on his list.

And what money will the Saints use to pick up larda**’s bloated contract?

Oh, I know, tell Drew he don’t need as much cause we need a good for nothing larda** on the D-line.

BTW, who voted yes? Was that you Dave Choate? :)

He was cut

He is a free agent. He would have to negotiate a contract. He could be signed for the same amount we paid Rogers or Franklin.

Oh well in that case bring him on!

He had one last chance.

With the Patriots. He said all the right things when they rescued him That was where he needed to back it up. Now, no one will believe it.

Just no.
