More Draft Options Cornerback and Safety...
So far I've only broached Defensive players, in as I think this is our greatest area of Need. Depending how our free agents play out in the weeks ahead we may have to address other positions. For now though, I will stick to defensive players and this post will deal with Cornerbacks and Safety positions.
Since we currently start in the second round of the draft here are some
2nd round or later CB's for your consideration. I feel we need to address this position in the later rounds but you know our BPA philosophy.
Stephon Gilmore, South Carolina. Projected 2nd round. 6'1" CB
Leonard Johnson,Iowa State, 2nd...coming off neck injury and IMO to short for todays NFL 5'10"
Brando Boykin, Georgia 2nd/3rd 5'9"
Trumaine Johnson,Montana, 2nd/3rd a 6'2" CB
Josh Norman, Coastal Carolina, 3rd at 6'0
Jamell Fleming, Oklahoma, 3rd 5'11"
DeQuan Menzie, Alabama 3rd/4th5'11"
From the home of the Ragin Cajuns
Dwight Bentley, Louisiana-Lafayette,3rd/4th 5'10"

dat iloka.. has some loka measurables.. cc..
with spagnola’s regime (here it goes again) the safeties must cover.. ideally: 2 free safeties with enough punch to support the run (check) but skill to cover the deep middle & the deep outside.. would give us an opportunity to deal harpo into the general direction of gate of the west.. maybe he can catch on over there..
i could see us pull the trigger for this guy, on the 3rd round..

And he is 6'4"
I like as well. But do we pull the trigger, at that position, that early. Maybe, BPA. Also, Kelcie McCray, from AR State, might be an interesting late round pick, at Strong Safety. Has good hands, which would be refreshing at that position.

Bentley from Louisianna-Lafayette was really impressive during the Senior Bowl
He was able to cover pretty much every WR he went up against. Showed a lot of athleticism and didn’t let guys get separation despite his lack of size. I think he’d be a great nickel corner immediately, and could develop into a starter.
If he gets into the 4th round, I hope the Saints strongly consider taking him, and frankly, I wouldn’t mind if he was picked in the 3rd.
Bentley and Taylor?
I’d consider that a good draft. Spend the other picks on o-line and d-line or linebackers.
