Rodgers over Brees for MVP
OK. We all knew this was coming. But 48-2? Really? Did these folks vote before Thanksgiving?

Not surprised in the least.
Whoever those two votes were, I’d like to shake their hand.

And may we send the other 48 the plague?

what a shame with all the records Drew broke this year
Congrats anyway on getting the AP Offensive Player Award Drew
LOVING MOORE, GRAHAM AND THE COOL BREES!
It was the right call
To split the awards at the least. (MVP/OPOY) Both Rodgers and Brees had all time seasons. It should’ve been closer than 48-2, but IMO this was the right call.
it's the ridiculous 48-2 that everybody has an issue with..
if you would make two one hour films, comprising each players season (which is probably more game film that any of these guys actually watched..) put it in a vault and let 50 new writers watch it in 20 years, i would think that the percentages wouldn’t be so absurdly one sided.. wouldn’t you..?
if anything it will ensure drew gets his, next year (that’s how they do mostly.. a lot like oscars..), even if some other player outperforms him by a mile..

Absolutely
100% agreed.
They both had seasons for all time. 48-2 is too much, and in 20 years, the reculsts would be much closer.
A few reasons I think it happened
1. Rodgers had a faster start – and that’s what gets media attention.
2. There’s no points for 2nd/3rd – like in the Heisman. Brees/Brady would have gotten a lot more points if that was the case.
3. The perception, whether or not it’s based in fact, is the Rodgers came out of games, while Payton tried his darndest to get records for his players, Brees included, by running up the score and padding stats.
4. Coming from a Packer fan – Green Bay got a whole lot of undeserved National attention this year because they won it all in 10 and didn’t lose until December.
Just a few points IMO. Your man had a GREAT season too.
And
Don’t forget that Bress won OPOY 47-3.
The writers didn’t want to hand out co-mvp’s and they copped out.
Yeah we knew it was coming
Yeah it’s a farce. But so is the entire award system as well.
Anybody actually watching the show? I watched the start then said “meh” and went on here to check things out. Now I’m going to watch a movie and have some fun with something worth watching.
I'm watching it.

Not watching it
I’m drunk on red wine and rocking out to Pantera’s “Cowboys From Hell” album. Life is good.

It’s strange to hear them play that at football games…..years ago, Pantera was actually considered controversial……guess I’m getting old.

This awards show might be a bit more interesting if we didn't already know who wins each award. Stupid.

Yeah I saw that earlier
Real classy to cut a guy the night before the game of his life….I mean they say its because Ochocinco will be active in this game but still….thats cold-blooded. You mean to tell me you couldn’t have let the guy play special teams or just sit on the bench which he’s been doing most of the time he’s been there anyway? Feel bad for the guy has to be soul crushing to go through all the fanfare and media day and think wow I’m actually gonna be apart of a Super Bowl team then you get a call from the Pats saying “sorry kid but your cut from the team” literally hours before……
" I’ve never done drugs but I think watching Matty Ice stare blankly towards the field as Drew Brees kneels down while clock hits zero in a playoff game would be like doing cocaine off a strippers @$$#….yeah that good.

Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident.

You should read the player’s tweets in reaction. The guys is a real class act and shows much grace to people in his response. He seems to be quite humble.
