I had forgotten about Jermiha Hunter...could it be that we have a playmaking LB waiting in the wings?

That's the same question we asked about LB Stanley Arnoux

He got put on IR during his first year…..and then the second year, and was eventually released. I think we drafted him in the 4th round. He never panned out. Maybe Hunter will be different.

"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

Yes... and no

Yes in that we asked the same question about Arnoux.

No in that Hunter at least had some time in camp to impress before he got hurt (vs. getting hurt in the very first rookie camp and apparently never recovering).

Hunter may well never pan out, of course, but he won’t be the exact same thing either.

Plus he had the same injury. Tearing your Achilles tendon can be hard to come back from. Arnoux never did it. Maybe there are more similarities between the two than we want to think about.

What! shall we curse the planets of mishap
That plotted thus our glory's overthrow?

True. I just said it would have at least SOME differences. Didn’t say there would be no similarities.

Still, Arnoux managed to tear both of them IIRC. So far Hunter hasn’t pulled that trick off. Hopefully he won’t.
