This is getting out of hand, how is this even news. Who the hell cares if players have a little side bet on who gets the biggest hit. As long as the hits are legal, who cares. NO ONE IN THE NFL CARES. Former player, current players, they all are like "Why is it a big deal? Happens on all teams" Oh They are paying each other to hurt players, their Contract does that. As does every defensive players contract pay them to do. It is the defensive players job to hit the person with the ball as hard as humanlly possible to stop him, make him drop the ball, and yes HURT him. Do you think that Ray Lewis think "Man i hope i just tape this person and he falls down so i don't hurt him." HELL NO. He is thinking "I am going to obliterate this person and knock his ass out." I'm sorry but that is wat a defensive player thinks and what he is paid to do. I mean Kurt Warner a guy who got blasted by a saints hit was like" its sad that this has come to light, but lets be resonable and not think this doesn't go on throughout the league and that the hits the saints were putting on him were hard, but legal." Its just mindblowing to me that people don't think that every defensive player is not trying to intentionally hurt the person he is hitting because they are. They are not trying to hurt a player so bad that it effects his career or way of life, but they are always trying to knock them out of the game. Its an advantage for their team if they do.

And this whole thing about they didn't need to put such small money on each hit to play better is bull shit. They are going to play the same way money on hits or not. It just makes it a little more exciting having something on the line like that. Like bragging rights, like "I got the money this time, you better bring it next game" Thats it. Anyone who has ever played anything can tell you this is true. And yes it is a little morally bad that they are doing this, but that is all people are really mad about is that its not the perfect sweet angel thing to do. And like i said they are not giving each other insentive to hurt an opposing player, their contract already does that, they are just being competitive and pushing the other guys like all testoterone filled guys do. and you know every guy in the world is like this. Wanting to bet his pride, and most of the time money on everything from a pick up game of basket ball, to a putt in a golf game, to a bounty fund in the NFL.

As for the punishment, just fine everyone involed and move on. No one was hurt, there were never any illegal hits, well the one blideside on farve by mccray was, but he was fined and that is the only one that i can think of. And don't say that harper hit on smith. Smith was showboating and harper did the right thing and defended his defenses honor. And anyone who has ever played a competitive sport can tell you they don't like people showboating and wayt harper did was the rigth thing, maybe not accourding to the rules, but accourding to your pride as a team. I'm just sick of these stupid fans who are turning the game off football into touch football because they whine at every little hit. "Oh this is wrong, the saints had a bounty fund" Like every team doesnt do this. Be real. Stop whining and let the players play some real football.

And to even suggest this is worse than spygate is beyond crazy. The patriots cheated to gain an advantage in the game just like if a player was using PEDs. I'm sorry to say but all this is, is guys having a little fun on the side while still doing what the are paid to do. To me it is just sad to see the NFL turning into such a soft league because fans complain about every little hit. And i know that most of the rules are being put into place for the safety of the players, it sometimes it just seems like the Real NFL is just gone.
