Supporting our beloved N.O. Saints is a constant, prevailing emotion we carry deep within our souls. It is the second line of our heart strings. We are there, as always, in good times, and bad. As fans, our loyalty is unquestionable. In the grand scheme of things, we all bleed black and gold. The Saints football team received the most severe of sanctions, suspensions ever applied to an NFL organization. The city of New Orleans, and Saints fans, feels their pain. The loss of our coach, Sean Payton for 2012 season will perhaps be the most challenging. Hosting Super Bowl XLVII, with the hopes of having N. O. Saints playing for the National Championship has all been cast aside. The humiliation brought upon the Saints organization in the 2012 season, will be relived, each time the Saints take the field against their opponents. Bountygate will resonate throughout the pages of NFL history forever. We are a resilient motley crew, the Saints organization, players and fans. We have history, overcoming adversity. We stared into the approaching eye of Hurricane Katrina, in 2005, and then resurfaced as our critics scorned our rebuilding efforts. The Saints organization will rise above and face their demons, with their resounding faith and fortitude. The transition will indeed be costly. The road back to respectability will far outweigh any monetary value. The future of our franchise now falls heavily upon the shoulders of our quarterback Drew Brees, who has been tagged by the organization. The remaining coaching staff should embrace, valiantly, all efforts to support Drew and those players, willing to endure the overwhelming criticism. If there is any hope to move forward through this quagmire of restructuring, it indeed rests with Drew (Breesus, as he is affectionately known.). Hopefully, he can straighten-up those crooked halos, help remove the tarnish, and place them back on our player’s once heavenly heads.
