No, I don't consider Drew not being signed as a good thing.
No one wants to think this could happen, but realistically Drew could well have a bounty, figuratively if not literally, on his head this season. Not only that but Sean's absence, will also increase his injury risk. Even if Drew suffers something to make him miss part of the season, Chase will be better prepared to step in if called for.
I think this could be part of the reason for the seemingly lack of urgency, by the team to sign Drew. I mean they have to figure, Drew is thoroughly ready to take over with most of the players who have been here all along. And he probably wouldn't need much time to mesh with the new players. In fact they could well be counting on his willingness, to work with rookies long after the regular day is done.
So what do y'all think. Is that a silver lining I'm seeing, or did I get a retinal burn from a lightening strike?
