The New Orleans Saints have acquired veteran linebacker Barrett Ruud from the Seattle Seahawks for an undisclosed draft pick, per Greg Bensel via Twitter.

You might remember Ruud better from his playing days with the NFC South division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though he played last season with the Tennessee Titans.
First reaction is: holy crap this is exciting! Joe Vitt said earlier today that the team might trade for a linebacker.
Second reaction is: holy crap how the $#&$ did things get so bad so quickly for the Saints linebackers!? The Jacksonville game just decimated this defense.
Ruud's had some injury problems recently, including off-season surgeries on his shoulder and groin, so I hope the Saints know what they're doing.
