Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

And so it begins...

Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael, Jr. is currently interviewing for the open Chicago Bears head coaching position, according to both Pro Football Talk and the Times-Picayune.

After Black Monday created quite a few coaching vacancies across the NFL, we knew it wouldn't be long before other teams started showing interest toward a few of the brilliant offensive minds behind the Saints offense. Unfortunately, that nerve-wracking process has already started.

We've seen Carmichael interview for other positions before only to turn them down so hopefully that's the case again. Because while the Saints offense wasn't as great as it could have been this season, I think it's worse without him. I know it would take a pretty sweet deal to get him to leave, as Carmichael and his family are very settled here in New Orleans.

What do you guys think?
