Rob Grabowski-USA TODAY Sports

With five weeks of the 2013 NFL season under their belt, here are a few statistics about the New Orleans Saints that you probably didn't know but will definitely find interesting.

The other night I had some free time on my hands, a rare occasion, so I decided to spend it wisely... by poring over some seriously deep Saints statistics that most fans don't have the opportunity to access. The following are some of the more interesting things I discovered about your 2013 New Orleans Saints so far this season.

Getting Things Started

  • On 1st and 10, the Saints prefer to use a 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE set more than any other formation.
  • On 1st and 10, the Saints have passed 57.25% of the time and run 42.75% of the time.
  • On 1st and 10 in the 1st quarter this season, the Saints run only 25% of the time. In the 4th quarter, they run 68% of the time.

Personnel Department

Downright Dominating

  • The Saints defense has not allowed a 4th down conversion yet this season.
  • The Saints lead the entire NFL in time of possession with 34:37. That's over a minute longer than the Kansas City Chiefs, who are ranked No. 2.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatchya Gonna Do?

  • Charles Brown is the most penalized player on the Saints so far. He has four penalties, all holding.
  • Offensive holding is by far the most called penalty on the Saints so far this season
