Saints vs. Cowboys Player Snap Counts by Position: Mark Ingram Touched the Football Almost Every Time he Took the Field

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

Find out exactly which Saints players took the field in the team's 49-17 beat down of the Cowboys on Sunday night, just how many snaps they took, and what that might tell us about the Saints moving forward.

Snap Count Notes:

The Saints ran way more offensive plays than they did defensive plays.

Mark Ingram only took 21 snaps. Considering he had 17 total targets (14 rushing touches, 2 receptions, 1 drop), that means he's very likely to get the ball when he breaks the huddle. Which also means Ingram isn't afforded the luxury of the element of surprise vs. defenses.

Josh Hill played more than Jimmy Graham and Ben Watson.

Based on snap count alone Kenny Stills is your No. 1 receiver. Meanwhile Nick Toon is in the doghouse.

David Hawthorne played very little.

Rafael Bush, on the other hand, is keeping it on lock down at safety.
