Saints News, 11/19/13: Jabari Greer Placed On Season-Ending IR After ACL Tear

Kevin C. Cox

Turns out the ugly knee injury Jabari Greer suffered Sunday against the 49ers was a torn ACL. It's no surprise that his season is now officially over. Surgery to repair the knee has reportedly not yet taken place but we can expect it will soon. Greer has long been an outstanding leader on this team since coming over from the Bills in 2009 and he will be missed. We wish him a speedy and full recovery. To fill his roster spot, the Saints signed CB Trevin Wade yesterday.

49ers cry foul, but it's their offense that's the issue
When San Francisco 49ers coaches graded the videotape from their heartbreaking loss on Sunday, they bent their own rules a bit to fit the occasion. Typically, a player receives a downgrade for penalties. Yet there was no such adjustment applied to linebacker Ahmad Brooks' final grade for the pivotal penalty he drew in the fourth quarter for his blow to the head of Drew Brees.

The New Orleans Saints (8-2) already made their big move last week. So they stayed put at No. 4 after an impressive 23-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
