Saints News, 12/11/13: Saints Decide To Not Activate LB Victor Butler From PUP List

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

Coach Payton said Butler's ACL rehab has gone well, but not well enough to allow him to return to action this year. Butler returned to practice on a very limited basis on Nov. 19, the last day which he could do so and still have a chance at being activated this year. The team ultimately decided it was best for his health that he not be activated this year. No surprise here. It was always a long shot that he'd be able to play this year after tearing his ACL six months ago.

Mike Shanahan talks Snyder and RG3 in epic press conference | ProFootballTalk
Shanahan went off on a wide variety of topics, focused almost exclusively on the odd relationship triangle among himself, team owner Dan Snyder and quarterback Robert Griffin III. Shanahan attempted to portray himself as a coach who simply cares about the health of Griffin and the health of the franchise, and he insisted that he likes coaching the team and has nothing against Snyder. And Shanahan said the decision to bench Griffin for the rest of the season was done only in consultation with Snyder.
