The difference one week can make, I happened to swing by last week and was a little take by the articles and context of the things being written by the fans and the writers on CSC. The Black and Gold had just had their asses handed to the by the Seattle Seahawks
and the over concern of problems in the "Big Easy" were every where. You have in your organization one of if not the best Head Coach in the league in Sean Payton, a leader of leaders.
Last year after the "Goodell Witch Hunt" had finally settled and Sean Payton was allowed to return, there was a lot of questions that were asked, most of all was how could we recover ? When you have a man that is a tactical genius and the quarterback of Drew Brees
, I knew that the Black and Gold would return to the top of the NFC South. I am going to use a military reference, because I am a retired US soldier, like General Patton who use to study ancient war tactics in battle and was highly successful, Payton is a General in the game. He came make adjustments and attack an opponent at their weakest point. Carolina has the 2nd rated defense in the league and he was able to exploit their weaknesses, a master at adjustments. With Drew Brees the legendary Field General moving the troops and attacking Carolina with precision strikes, it was a thing of beauty.
In 2010 when the whole "Bounty Gate" was getting blown all of the news, I was initially upset at the fact that it happened, but I dug a little deeper in the facts and found that the NFL was using a lot of fabricated evidence to make their case. In a practice that has been going on for as long as I have known it, financial reward for any kind of exception play. Sean Payton the man that he is, fell on the sword and took one for the team, trying to minimize any more damage, a true soldier. Well even with exceptional talent you could see things were not even close to the same, there was no cohesion, no General to make tactical directives, it was a complete cluster f--k.
Now the General has returned from his suspension and I have nothing but awe and jealousy for the turn around that you have to credit your leader for doing, the difference one man makes. Black and Gold good luck and good football, Go Vikings
