The OT debate... Look closer.

So far, it seems the general consensus is that Bushrod is up for a big pay day, and we won't be able to match. Bushrod has been serviceable, but we don't have the money to keep him. Although, many people still believe we need an upgrade at LT. I also thought he may be up for a big raise, but then I looked at the FA list....

After looking at the OTs that are available in FA, I think Bushrod falls to around the 7th or 8th best on the list. I would definitely have Jake Long, Branden Albert, Sebastian Vollmer, Andre Smith, Ryan Clady, and Sam Baker ahead of Bushrod.

The next in line are Phil Loadholt, Will Beatty, Gosder Cherilus, Winston Justice, and Barry Richardson. Bushrod probably falls in between the 2 groups. I know not all of these are LTs, but it could mean Bushrod falls down the pecking order of teams in need of OTs. If so, and he slides, maybe he could return for a cheaper contract? It would certainly help our team, both in the coming season and the draft. But also don't forget, Bushrod is 29, so maybe a fresh new face is best anyway...
