Last night we learned Sean Payton and staff will be interviewing Rob Ryan tomorrow and Georgia's Todd Grantham today for their vacant defensive coordinator position.

But it looks like there's another potential candidate the team will consider. Fox reporter Jennifer Hale caught up with the Saints head coach at last night's Hornets game and he revealed a juicy little nugget of information.

Just interviewed @saints Sean Payton at @hornets game. No decision on DC by Friday bc he's bringing in a 3rd candidate early next week.

And the plot thickens. This is good news. I'm happy to see the team taking their time with such an important decision. I feel like they've rushed this process in the past.

So who could this new candidate be? It could be Browns linebacker coach Billy Davis,or Ravens linebacker coach Ted Monachino, or 49ers defensive line coach Jim Tomsula. We know it can't be Ed Donatell from San Francisco because the 49ers have blocked him from speaking with the Saints.
