Saints free up some more salary cap space by releasing the backup linebacker.
The NFL free agency period is set to start in just a few minutes and moves are already being made.
The Saints will be releasing linebacker Will Herring, according to Larry Holder.

Herring had one year remaining on his 3-year contract with the team. This move will free up another $1.6 million of much-needed salary cap space, according to Holder.

No big deal. This was a move that had to be made if the Saints plan to upgrade their linebacking corps.
