Asomugha played for Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan during their mutual time together in Oakland.
He may have fallen off the map last season while in the clusterf*** that was the Philadelphia Eagles organization, but free agent Nnamdi Asomugha is reportedly drawing interest from at least five teams and one of those is the Saints. If I remember correctly, Nnamdi had his best seasons while in Oakland playing man coverage in Ryan's defense.
Could Ryan be pushing for Mickey Loomis to give a serious look-see at Nnamdi? Could the Saints afford him? At age 32, does he still have the mad skills he once had while in Oakland? Does all this recent CB interest by the Saints mean Patrick Robinson's days in black and gold are numbered?
One thing is for sure - the Saints can't afford to get into a bidding war for him. The other teams reportedly interested in Asomugha's services are the 49ers, Texans, Cardinals, and Broncos.
