The Saints could be the front-runners for landing free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and the mutual respect between he and Rob Ryan could be the deciding factor.
Keep your eyes and ears open, Saints fans, because we could see the team sign their first free agent of the year very soon, and it could very well be cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has a source close to Asomugha saying Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is very interested in the free agent cornerback and is making a "big push" to land Nnamdi in New Orleans.
Even better, the feelings between Ryan and Asomugha are mutual.
Said the source of Asomugha's attitude toward Ryan: "[Asomugha] loves him and trusts him.
This could be a big signing. Nnamdi is currently visiting with the 49ers, but if he leaves San Francisco without an offer, it looks like the Saints are front runners in the Asomugha sweepstakes.
