CSC Round 1 Draft Rankings

As draft day draws nearer, I'm curious about the Saints' overall draft rankings. I'm sure a trade-down option is looking favorable to Sean Payton and Co. as the Saints are provided only 5 picks in the entire draft. However, I'd have to believe that there would be some players that, if left available, the Saints' would jump on. I got the idea of making our own draft rankings list from another NFL blog here at SB nation and was curious what direction our community would go.

Goal

I know the CSC community has been varied on our first round pick -- some for Vaccaro, others for Defensive Tackles like Sheldon Richardson or Sharrif Floyd, and even others for D.J. Fluker or (by some work of God) one of the three top tackles. By creating a list voted on by Saints' fans ( and barring a trade-down scenario) we could have a more definitive measuring stick that could be used to determine the best pick based on the remaining talent.

How It Works

I will make a series of posts asking to you rate your top available 2013 draft players in different ranking segments (this post being your first to fifth ranked players.) Note: in your picks do not make your decisions based on who you think will still be available by our 15th pick. Your making your picks assuming that every player is available. The first five picks might be easier (I'm sure a lot of you might have offensive tackles in your line-up) but as the list extends it might be harder to decide For example, where do you actually put Vaccaro? Above the three best defensive tackles? Or somewhere in between? Obviously you will have to weight need vs. quality of players available and hopefully strike a harmoney between the talent left on the board and our team's most vital needs.

Here's an example:

1. Luke Joeckel, OT

2. Eric Fisher, OT

3. Sharrif Floyd, DT

4. Dion Jordan, DE/OLB

5. Lane Johnson, OT

The lists will be ranked as follows:

First Pick = 5 points

Second Pick = 4 points

Third Pick = 3 points

Fourth Pick = 2 points

Fifth Pick = 1 point

I will accumulate all points at the post deadline and we will start our community draft list from there! The post deadline will be 11:59 P.M. April 16th. I will then create the second post ranking positions #6-10. So get your 1-5 draft order and, just out of curiosity, take the poll below: "If all players were made available to the Saints in the 2013 draft, who would you take?"
