Outside linebacker is not the only area of concern when it comes to defense for the New Orleans Saints, as they have taken a renewed interest in the safety position going into the 2013 NFL Draft.
WalterFootball.com is also showing that former California (Pa.) safety Rontez Miles is up for a visit to Airline Drive along with several other defensive backs. The Saints have also looked over former Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro and former Oregon safety John Boyett.
An attractive feature about Miles is that he is currently projected to be a sixth or even seventh round pick in the upcoming draft.
While at California (Pa.), he registered 258 tackles, two sacks, 19 passes broken up, and 10 interceptions, proving to be a valuable commodity in their secondary.
At the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine, Miles (6'0", 203 lbs) ran a 4.62 40-yard dash, a 6.97 3-cone drill, a 4.27 20-yard shuttle, and had a 123-inch broad jump.
