Saints News 4/22/13: Scott Fujita Is Too Awesome For Words

Donald Miralle

He signed a one-day contract with us today so he could retire a Saint. He did this from Machu Picchu, Peru where he is helping to carry his close friend and former teammate Steve Gleason through the rough terrain. Wow! You truly are a saint in more ways than one, Mr. Fujita! Welcome home! Even after you left us for Cleveland and then helped the Browns come to New Orleans and lay a surprise beat-down on us, I still liked you. Then, when you bravely fought back against Roger Goodell's disingenuous tyranny, I liked you even more. Today, I feel strongly compelled to build a shrine in your honor. No White Flags!

Saints asked Fujita to retire as a member of the team | ProFootballTalk
"I’ve been fortunate to play in this league for a long time for some great organizations. But my time spent in New Orleans was certainly the best four years of my career. When Mickey Loomis found out I was preparing to officially retire, he reached out as I was about to board a plane to Peru, to ask if I’d like to sign a contract with the team and officially retire as a Saint. I was blown away by that. And what better time to make something like this official than on the grounds of Machu Picchu with my friend & former teammate Steve Gleason?"

Saints Nation: How the Chris Ivory Trade Scenario Plays Out on Thursday
I honestly do believe the Saints will be trading Chris Ivory to the Jets on Thursday, with compensation being the only question mark. I also believe there's a very strong chance it won't happen till just before or slightly after the 13th pick overall which the Jets now possess.
