hello everyone, i'm a die hard saints fan up in NJ. i will say the last 7 years have been the best times of my life in regards to sports living knee deep in eagles country. and in regards to the last season's obvious organizational debacle, i've had many conversations with people in my area and get their opinions since their teams weren't involved but they had fears that maybe 1 day the same situation would happen. now i'm on this site 5 times a day to get any updates and i listen to wwl online from time to time because i'm tired of listening to how much the eagles are gonna be something if they just did this. only time i want to hear about them is when we beat them; which if you never experienced angry eagles fans up close it's truly a site to see.
but recently we've started to look overall picture about commissioners in sports and some of the things they've been doing recently and looking past if they're doing what they are doing for the "good of the league" or are they doing it on purpose. not in the aspect he tried to make an example out of the saints to put fear in the NFL but did he actually do it to be hated. vast majority of people care about the NFL for only 6 months or less and with the world of today everything is 24/7, the league needs to be able to be relevant to everyone nearly year round.
is goodell trying to be a bad guy? from last year alone as a big time attempt to subtle things like rule changes to players that when using common sense know all it's going to do is upset fans, players and maybe affect outcomes of games because a RB collided with the crown of his head. he can always throw up his hands and say it's the right thing to do but is he in the background rubbing his hands and grinning as well? knowing that it will make fans and players hate him. people will be glued to every tv or website hearing players and analyst bashing these rules and what they will cause when the season starts and it affects an outcome which brings more interest to the NFL.
i found this video that makes alot of sense in a funny matter
to everyone who writes on this site keep up the good work, your my only true connection to the saints all year long from 1400 miles away
