If Armstead could prove himself dependable, he might be the best option, as his physical skills give him a higher ceiling than the other two. But there are also risks inherent with giving a rookie that kind of responsibility.

For most of the time, there were no true defensive tackles on the field, with the field packed with pass rushers and defensive backs. At one point, almost everyone on the defense was standing up, with outside linebacker Will Smith, Junior Galette and Martez Wilson all out on the field together. And on the very first play of team drills, inside linebacker Curtis Lofton shot through the middle for an apparent sack of quarterback Drew Brees (though they aren't going full-contact at this stage of the offseason).

"I'm just being smart with it," Jenkins said Thursday. "It's doing pretty good. I was able to do some running today, and do some drills without it bothering me. So I definitely plan to go next week."

Parking will be available in the Zephyr Field parking lot. There is no parking along the Saints property due to construction. The team advises fans to enter the practice fields at the gate located on the corner of Elise Drive and Airline. Practice can be moved indoors with little or no advance warning based on weather conditions. All indoor practices are closed to the public due to space limitations.

The Saints will hold their three-day full-squad minicamp starting Tuesday at the team’s training facility at 5800 Airline Drive in Metairie. The public is invited to attend the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday practices set for 10:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
