The New Orleans Saints have signed four of their five 2013 NFL Draft picks tonight as the team prepares to begin their rookie minicamp tomorrow.
On the eve of rookie minicamp; the Saints sign four of their five draft picks to four-year contracts. The team announced that 1st round selection S Kenny Vaccaro (Texas), 3rd round selection T Terron Armstead (Arkansas Pine-Bluff), fifth round selection WR Kenny Stills (Oklahoma) and sixth round selection LB Rufus Johnson (Tarleton State) have all signed four year deals with the team.— Greg Bensel (@GregBensel) May 10, 2013
I can't remember the Saints ever signing a draft pick this early and certainly not this many of them. Last year the Saints didn't sign their first 2012 draft pick, Akiem Hicks, until June 28th, so they're well ahead of the game this year. Nice work, Mickey!
Defensive tackle John Jenkins is now the only 2013 NFL Draft pick not signed by the Saints.
Vaccaro, 22, was selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 15th overall pick out of the University of Texas.
Armstead, 21, was selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 75th overall pick out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Stills, 21, was selected by the Saints in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 144th overall pick out of Oklahoma.
Johnson, 22, was selected by the Saints in the sixth round of the draft with the 183rd pick overall out of Tarleton State.
