Saints News 6/12/13: Saints LB Victor Butler Tears ACL, Out For Season

Turns out the knee bang Butler had yesterday with Mark Ingram during OTA resulted in an injury more serious than Payton first described. Some across the blogosphere are saying this is a huge blow for the Saints' rebuilding defense. I slightly disagree. Sure it hurts the team to some degree but it's too early to tell what kind of impact the loss of Butler will have. What do you think? Reports: Saints OLB Butler tears ACL | New Orleans
Victor Butler, slated to be one of New Orleans’ starting outside linebackers in the team’s new 3-4 defense, tore an anterior cruciate ligament in one of his knees, according to several reports.

Butler collided with Mark Ingram on Tuesday during Organized Team Activities. Saints head coach Sean Payton has shown no signs of long-term concern after the practice. "I think he is going to be fine, actually, so we are fortunate,'' Payton said.
