CSC Prediction Results: NFL's Top Five Players of 2013

#28 on the practice field, #1 in the vote of the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2013. - USA TODAY Sports

I'm back with the official results of our little offseason boredom-alleviating prediction contest.

The NFL's Top Players of 2013 Top 10 votes were officially announced and reacted to on NFL Network Thursday night LINK, so all that's left to do is match up the Top Five with YOUR predictions and see how you did.

First, I present to you the Players' Top Five, as revealed Thursday night:

1) Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings

2) Peyton Manning, QB, Denver Broncos

3) Calvin Johnson, WR, Detroit Lions

4) Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots

5) J.J. Watt, DE, Houston Texans

Boom. There it is. Are you surprised by anything on it?

And now, here's how the seven of you who attempted to predict the players' Top Five vote performed. For each of the players, I'll name their ranking in the contest, repeat their list, and follow their list with two numbers in parenthesis like this: (X, Y). The first number will be the number of Top Five players they correctly selected in the exact same rank order as the players, and the second number will be how many of the Top Five players they correctly identified, regardless of order.

Here we go...drumroll, please!

First Place goes to...LETLOOSETHEDOGSOFWAR, who named Peterson, Manning, Brady, Watt, and Johnson (2, 5). Congratulations, LLTDOW!!!! Here's your prize, a vintage WhoDatSay!?! gif (or an old Mt. Saintsmore, if you will). Put your mouse over the image to see it come alive!!

And let's hear it for LEGATRON MORSTEAD, who came in Second Place with his list of: Peterson, Brady, Johnson, Aaron Rodgers, and Manning (2, 4). Yay, LM!!!!! You won't believe the amazing prize I have chosen for you...and since pictures are worth a thousand words, I'll let a thousand words about a bacon beer mug speak for themselves. Roll your mouse over the image to feel your arteries harden.

Third Place goes to JEE, whose list included: Peterson, Manning, Ray Lewis, Rodgers, and Aldon Smith (2, 2). Waka waka, Jee!!! You get to take home a picture of my Mom with Mo Rocca. Roll your mouse over the image to see Mo...oh, I'd better stop there. That's my own mother, for Pete's sake!!

We have a tie for Fourth Place, between DAISY117 and RYAN EDWARDS. Daisy first, with a list of: Peterson, Rodgers, Watt, Manning, Brady (1, 4). Ryan's list had: Peterson, Johnson, Rodgers, Watt, and Brady (1, 4). You get to split a picture of my Dad's hand being swallowed by HOF linebacker Rickey Jackson's hand!! You're welcome.

Sixth place is held by RUSSTY and CLAYTON. Russty named Manning, Peterson, Darrelle Revis, Rodgers, Watt (1, 3). CC58's list contained: Peterson, Rodgers, Manning, Smith, and Brady (1, 3). For you two, a picture of two men who combined to catch 50 career touchdown passes for the New Orleans Saints - my Dad and Joe Horn!!!!

So there's my final reckoning. Feel free to critique my scoring system in the comment thread. My decision to value correct picks in the exact correct slot ranking over the number of Top Five players named overall is controversial, to say the least.
