Saints News 7/25/13: Former Saint Sedrick Ellis A No-Show With New Team, Plans To Retire

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

The former Saints' 2008 first round draft choice and forever a disappointment to Who Dat Nation (we actually traded up to get this guy!) failed to report to Bears training camp and just informed his new team that he now plans to retire at age 28. He had recently signed a one-year contract with the Bears and promised his production would be better in the Windy City because the Saints were holding him back in recent years. What a joke this guy is! He might do well to spend some of that $30 million he got from Mr. Benson on a highly-skilled therapist. Let this be your open thread for lamenting about how bad the Saints often are at using their early round draft choices.

I do feel able to run and do all the things that I was able to do back in 2010. ... I just needed a little time (to rehabilitate) that I didn't get last year because of everything that was going on."
