Saints Training Camp Recap, Day 12: Is Anyone Really Blaming Kenny Vaccaro For Joe Morgan's Knee Injury?

Stacy Revere

There are several internet articles out today saying don't blame S Kenny Vaccaro for WR Joe Morgan's season-ending knee injury. I find this odd. Joe Morgan apparently got this going when he tweeted the same shortly after he was injured in Saturday's scrimmage. Soon after, other Saints players said the same thing. Who's blaming Vaccaro? Were there Saints fans there that booed Vaccaro after the play? We didn't even know Vaccaro was involved until Morgan tweeted to not blame him and, as far as we know, Vaccaro made a clean tackle with no intent to injure. The Saints' most recent first round draft selection endured some criticism last week for getting into a little heated exchange with TE Jimmy Graham during practice, but that doesn't make him a reckless trouble-maker. As far as I know, most Saints fans appreciate Vaccaro's enthusiasm and look forward to him injecting some spark into a defense that was the worst ever last season. Are any Who Dats truly upset with Vaccaro over this?

NFL still not happy with preseason games | ProFootballTalk
In our view, this is about coming up with a path to an expanded regular season, which the players and many fans and media members have resisted. The NFL needs the players to want more regular-season games. That likely won’t happen until the league exercises its right under the labor deal to cut the preseason in half, which could then get the union to run the numbers regarding the impact of a reduced preseason on the shared revenues and volunteer swapping two weeks of far more lucrative games (especially from a TV standpoint) for half of the games that don’t count.
