Back to the Books

After reviewing our preseason games, and especially the game against Atlanta, it seems pretty evident to me SP has implemented some of Spag's DL formations as well as taking a more active role on our defense... As witnessed by his shadowing RR on the sideline... I've compared our alignments with those of RR's teams of the past, who've NEVER done well (his success in Dallas last season was a result of his personnel), and I see very little similarities... The alignment of our DB's and safeties, however, are very reminiscent of his past teams, whose coverage teams have been decent when they had the personnel, and I believe Vaccaro is his ace in the hole... The biggest question linigering in my mind is how our LB situation plays-out. I'm actually quite pleased with our keeping Herring and think he may surprisingly be the Fujita of our present LB Corps... SP is widely acknowledged as one of, if not THE, the greatest offensive strategists in the league. However, as long as our defenses are lacking, he'll still be in Belnichick's shadow... I think he plans on stepping out of that shadow this season. HE DAT! lol
