Saints News 9/17/13: Saints Re-Sign CB Chris Carr

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

The eight-year veteran was re-signed today, according to a tweet from his agent, after being cut by the team August 31st. This move is presumably to add depth after Patrick Robinson sustained a cart-off knee injury Sunday against the Bucs. Coach Payton hasn't yet given an update on Robinson, but it's a safe bet that he's probably headed to IR and is likely done for the year. We'll find out tomorrow when the Saints give an official injury report.

Power Rankings: No. 8 New Orleans Saints - New Orleans Saints Blog - ESPN
The New Orleans Saints held steady at No. 8, which is fitting after they squeaked out a 16-14 victory at Tampa Bay. It was a good win -- but not exactly a pretty one. And for the second week in a row, the No. 8 ranking seems just about right for a 2-0 Saints team that is still trying to prove it is back among the upper echelon of NFL contenders.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are A Sad Mess Right Now
Be thankful you aren't a Buccaneers fan. It's one thing for an 8-8ish team to bumble around and lose in the sloppy first few weeks of fall. It's another for that team to look like a 10-win team for 59 minutes and a two-win team for one. Of all the ways for an NFL team to arrive at mediocrity, the Bucs have chosen the cruelest.

Greg Schiano: We’ll get it fixed | ProFootballTalk
For the second straight week, the Buccaneers lost on a field goal in the final seconds by the opposition and, also for the second straight week, their loss came after making a mountain of unforced errors in the 59-plus minutes leading up to the fateful kick.
