Saints News, 9/26/13: Mark Ingram Denies He Asked For Trade

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Said Ingram today in a video interview from the Saints locker room, “I don’t know who came up with that. I’ve never said that at all. I never asked for it. Don’t want it. Like I said, New Orleans is home. I love my teammates, love my coaches, love this organization. I’m very grateful to be part of this organization. It’s a class organization. Stuff comes from everywhere all of the time. People speculate things, assume things that may not be true. That’s OK. I know the truth and everybody in the organization knows the truth.” Ingram was one of seven Saints players who did not participate in practice today.

NFLN says: 3-0 Super Bowl contenders? - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN
The Saints should definitely be considered as legitimate Super Bowl contenders, based on their offensive track record under coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees. Not only did they win the Super Bowl in 2009, but their offense was even better in 2011, when they finished 13-3 and set the NFL record for yards gained in a season (7,474). I don't expect an exact repeat this year, but I think that's closer to the norm than last year's 7-9 season.
