Saints News, 1/14/14: Is It Time To Retool The Saints Offense?

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Gary Estwick of thinks so and I can't find anything from his article that I especially disagree with. Estwick writes among other statements, "Brees' current crop of receivers excel at finding vacant spaces in defenses, yet struggle when they have to create their own openings and stretch the field. It's a bad look for receivers any time an offense's top receiving option lines up in a three-point stance." Well said. It was shocking this season how the once unstoppable Saints offense had such a difficult time scoring in road games. Maybe this is a simple fix Sean Payton already has solutions for or maybe it isn't. Estwick also writes that Rob Ryan's defense carried the offense for much of the season and I can't disagree with that either.
