Saints News, 1/29/14: Rams Hire Gregg Williams As Defensive Coordinator

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Former Saints defensive coordinator and Roger Goodell whipping boy Gregg Williams was hired by the Rams to be their new defensive coordinator today very shortly after the team fired their previous DC. Williams was recently let go by the Tennessee Titans shortly after they replaced their head coach. The Rams were all set to hire Williams in 2012 but had to go a different route after Williams was suspended indefinitely for his part in the Saints' blown-out-of-proportion pay-for-performance scandal. Looks like Jeff Fisher and the Rams couldn't care less about the allegations and character assassination Roger Goodell erroneously launched against Williams almost two years ago. In other news involving a different former Saints defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnoulo became the Ravens' secondary coach today after working as their "senior defensive assistant" last season.
