Saints vs. Eagles Playoff Recap: Saints End Road Playoff Drought, Defeat Eagles 26-24

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in franchise history, the New Orleans Saints finally achieved a road playoff victory against the no. 3 seed Philadelphia Eagles Saturday night. It wasn't always pretty and the Saints offense continued to play less efficiently in a road game than they usually do at home, but a playoff victory is a playoff victory. Rob Ryan and the Saints defense deserve a lot of credit for limiting LeSean McCoy and other Eagles playmakers for most of the game. The Saints will now travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks in the next round of the playoffs.

Big plays missing early for Eagles
The Eagles entered halftime with only seven points, and one of the reasons was their lack of big plays. The Eagles had only two plays of more than 20 yards in the first half: a 24-yard pass to Brent Celek and a 22-yard pass to Riley Cooper. They averaged nearly six per game during the regular season.
