Saints News, 1/7/14: Saints CB Keenan Lewis Says He Expects To Play At Seattle

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

No surprise here that Lewis says he will play this Saturday in Seattle. If it had been up to him and not team doctors last Saturday night, he would have finished the game at Philly. The Saints weren't required to release a practice report today, so they gave no official word on how Lewis has done with the concussion protocols. Their first practice report will be tomorrow. All we know at this point is what Mike Triplett of is reporting, which is that Lewis was able to practice today to an unknown degree and he intends to play. This would be welcomed news to Saints fans who saw the Eagles' passing attack suddenly come to life and start posting points as soon as Lewis left the game last Saturday night. The drop-off between Lewis and the next man up is substantial. In other news, the Saints placed LB Parys Haralson on IR, waived safety Isa Abdul-Quddus, and promoted LB Rufus Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster.
